This is my first fan fiction so I hope you like it. It will not be series, just a one-time thing. If you like it, I’ll write more soon. The story takes place where the show has currently left off (after “Endgame”). Enjoy! * * * Sydney and Jack are discussing what consequences she should face for defying her father and undermining the CIA on her latest mission in Spain with Vaughn. As we already know, Syd pleaded with her father not to punish Vaughn for his actions, but to put all of the blame on Syd. “You know how much I want to protect you and I don’t want you going on mission without my permission, especially one as dangerous as this. Both your mother and Sloane could have been there and you could have been killed,” said Jack sternly. “Dad, you can’t tell me what to do. I’m sick of the CIA trying to protect me. Just because you have Director status doesn’t mean you can interfere with my personal decisions. Besides, Vaughn was on the mission with me. He would never let anything bad happen to me,” replied Syd with equal harshness. “I don’t care tough you think you are. You getting involved with Agent Vaughn is not safe. Your personal relationship with him could get in the way of your work here. Our directive is to get Sloane and Direvko. If you are not focused, we cannot achieve that.” Syd yells at her father again and decides that if he won’t allow her to have personal freedoms that she doesn’t want to work underneath him anymore. * * * Later at her house feeling depressed about her father’s overprotective tendencies, Syd hears the phone ring. “Hello.” “Joey’s pizza?” said a familiar voice. “Wrong number,” said Syd not expecting this since she and Vaughn had not met in the warehouse since SD-6 went down. Syd put on her coat and grabbed her keys, walking out the door and getting into her car. * * * Vaughn was awaiting Sydney’s arrival in the warehouse as he heard her car drive up. Syd enter the infamous room with a confused llok on her face. “Hey, what’s going on? Why are we meeting here? Do we have a lead on Sloane or Irina?” asked Syd. “Not exactly. I talked to your father about what you decided. If I were in your situation I wouldn’t enjoy being babied wither. I actually think it was a good choice, you know, leaving the CIA,” said Vaughn happily. “Is that all you brought me her for?” “No,” said Vaughn with a weird smile on his face. Syd wasn’t sure what to think of it. “Come with me.” Vaughn took Sydney into another space further back in the warehouse. It was a part of the building that they’d never met in before. Syd was very confused and wasn’t sure what to think about Vaughn’s awkward behavior. As Vaughn took Syd’ hand and led her into the new room, Syd’s eyes widened and she could not believe what she was seeing. Red roses everywhere! Bouquets of flowers were scattered around the room on every inch available. There was a small isle going down the middle of the flowers. At the end of the walkway was a chair. Vaughn stared at Syd, just thinking how excit4ed he was. “What’s all this for?” Syd pondered with a gleaming smile upon her face. “Syd, will you go sit in the chair for me please and I’ll explain everything.” Vaughn led Syd again to the chair along the isle. Beneath her feet there were rose petals scattered and Syd could only imagine what would come next. She sat down and awaited Vaughn’s speech. Standing in front of Sydney, engulfing both of her hands in his, Vaughn began to speak. “Syd, I brought you here today because I knew now was the time. Please don’t interrupt me, but what I’m about to say must be said. After you spoke with your father, he called me into his office. I assumed that I was going to be punished for helping you save Caplan against your father’s wishes. Once I sat down in front of him, your father began telling me what you’d told him. He said you’d refused to work for him and that you left in a hurry, hoping I would not get in trouble for our actions. I didn’t know what to think. The only reason for us meeting and me falling in love with you was because you joined the CIA. Once I heard you were leaving, I felt that I had not place being there either. I’ve decided to go with you, out of the CIA. Don’t tell me I’m making a mistake because I’ve already signed my release papers. They can find Sloane and Irina themselves. We can be together.” Vaughn let out a sigh of relief for getting that all off of his chest. “I…I don’t understand. I mean…you left your job at the CIA and the pursuit for your father’s killer for me?” Syd said, still astonished at what Vaughn had just told her. “Syd. I love you. I brought you to this warehouse because this is where I firstfell in love with you. I would sometimes hope for you to get a mission just so I could callyou and meet you her. I asked you to come her because you gave me the middle drawer at your house. I wanted to ask you…” Vaughn began to say as he fell to one knee, “…if you would allow me to put all of my clothes in your drawers?” Syd just sat there in silence. Again amazed with this news Syd began to speak. “I would love for you to move in with me.” “Syd, I want to do more than live with you.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out a black velvet box. “I want to know if you’ll marry me.” Beginning to cry as Vaughn opened the box to reveal a ring with a single diamond in the middle. “I…Yes, I wouldn’t want to do anything else but marry you!” Syd leapt out of the chair and into Vaughn embracing arms. They both released, staring into each other’s eyes with intense passion. Syd and Vaughn began to kiss one another in such a way that they knew they’d be together forever. Then one simple sentence came out of Syd’s mouth: “Now I finally have m life back.” :star: * * * I hope you all enjoyed my story. Please review and let me know if you think I should keep writing more. Thanks, Merissa.
