Cover Me

Here's some off the top of my head:
Foo Fighters-Darling Nikki (Prince)
Gary Jules-Mad World (Tears For Fears)
Smashing Pumpkins-Landslide (Fleetwood Mac)
Eddie Vedder-You've Got To Hide Your Love Away (Beatles)
U2-Helter Skelter (Beatles) just for the clever intro by Bono
Stone Temple Pilots-Dancing Days (Led Zeppelin)
311-Love Song (The Cure)
Love Spit Love-How Soon Is Now? (The Smiths)
Alicia Keys-How Come You Don't Call Me? (Prince)
Sting-Little Wing (Jimi Hendrix)
Echo & the Bunnymen-People Are Strange (The Doors)
Metallica-Turn the Page (Bob Seger)

Jeff Buckley's cover of Hallelujah is my absolute favorite cover ever.

Also like Sarah McLachlan's cover of Blackbird (by the Beatles).

And Chantal Kreviazuk's cover of Wild Horses (by the Rolling Stones) is also quite good. And her cover of Leaving on a Jet Plane (the one on the Armeggedon soundtrack).

Right when I saw the title, I knew someone had said this....I  that song!

And Rod Stewart's 'Reason to believe'....the original just doesn't do it for me...

Jai :rain:

These are the ones that I can think of right now:

Marilyn Manson - Tainted Love (Soft Cell)
Sarah McLachlan - Unchained Melody (Righteous Brothers)
Josh Groban - She's Out Of My Life (Michael Jackson)
Sixpence None the Richer - Dancing Queen (ABBA)

Wild Horses - The Sundays (Rollingstones)
Mandy Moore - Have a Little Faith in Me
Girls Aloud - Jump
Ryan Adams - Wonderwall

thats all i can think of for now...

Joss Stone, on Soul Sessions, covers some old songs really well. However, my favorite song on that album is her cover of the recent White Stripes song, Fell In Love With a Boy. She just turns it around and does something so completely different to it, it's amazing.

"Wild Horses" love both The Sundays' and Chantal Kreviazuk's version
Jewel - "Emily"
"Have a little faith in me" +> love Jewel's, Chaka Kahn's and Ilse De Lange's version
Sixpence None The Richer - "Don't dream it's over"
Elisa - "Halelujah"
Jennifer Love Hewitt - "You look so fine" (she sang it in "Time And Again" once)
Apocalyptica ft Nina Hägen - "Seemann"

Oh, I love their cover of that!! It's better than the original, I think. And I had no idea that Darling Nikki is actually a cover of Prince's original song. Hmm.

Does anyone here listen to house?

I love Gwen Stephani house covers!! They rock! Well I like some pop music, but when its remixed by a wicked producure in to EDM its like 1000 times better.

Johnny Cash (rip): Personal Jesus (Depeche Mode), Hurt (Nine Inch Nails)
Tori Amos: Love song (The Cure)
Sundays: Wild Horses
KMFDM: Boots (Nancy Sinatra)

"Tragedy" (BeeGees covered by Steps)
"I Have a Dream" (ABBA covered by Westlife)

"I'm a Believer" (The Monkees covered by Smashmouth)
"These Boots Were Made for Walking" (Nancy Sinatra covered by Faye Tozer)
"I'm a Believer" (The Monkees covered by the company of Love Shack)

Covers that should never have been covered:
"The ABBA Generation" (ABBA "covered" by the A*Teens)
any ABBA song covered by Erasure

"I Just Wanna be Your Everything" (Andy Gibb covered by Aaron Carter)

"These Boots Were Made for Walking" (Nancy Sinatra covered by Jessica Simpson)

Good Cover of a Cover:
"Big Yellow Taxi" (Joni Mitchell covered by Janet Jackson covered by Amy Grant covered by Counting Crows)
