Decline in behavior among gamers.

So I stumbled upon a video while browsing around on YouTube and it really got me thinking. I don't know how many of you that actually play games on a regular basis but regardless, it's hard to not notice how much hate and derogatory behavior there is nowadays.

What do you guys think? Why is it that the gaming community is so filled with hate and threats etc... bad behavior overall.

I think it's like the internet and keyboard warriors. A lot of the time they're never going to meet the people they're gaming against, so they're brave enough to scream and shout because they're never going to meet the person they're shouting at.

This.

Being anonymous is why. You never see anyone using their given name online for gaming, because they can act how they want, and say whatever they want.
I should probably change some of my gamertags then  I used to have martinfredin everywhere but on the other hand, I've never really been that kind of hardcore keyboard warrior that flames and insult. I do however get frustrated when I play competitive games and your team is just simply throwing the game away causing you to lose. Simply because they refuse to do it any other way than their own.

At the end of the day I try to just go "Some people are just immune to knowledge and rationalism, leave it be." and I don't lash out.. But boy do I wish I had a punching bag in my room sometimes...

Once it gets to the point where people start handing out death threats like it's not a big deal however, I feel that there should be better control. First of all, don't parents know what their kids are doing? Threatening someone, abusing them so badly that they're willing to hurt themselves etc...

And if we take being anonymous away from them, its a violation to privacy. So in order to respect privacy, it will have to continue. One of the big reasons why I have decided not to game online.

That shouldn't stop you from gaming online. You don't have to listen to tools. When I play, I have about 6-7 other friends that play... If we choose to talk, we simply log into our teamspeak channel and chat. We never hear a peep from others, because we always mute out voice. We actually have been doing this since about 2002... When we didn't have T/S, we would simply just mute everyone else. It has certainly extended our gaming life, as well as made it more enjoyable.

I'd play online with people I know and would be okay with that. But I once played that halo game online and it was a bunch of 12-14 year olds telling me to go ^%$# myself and laughing. LOL.

I prefer to imagine going back in time and kicking the father so hard in the groin and render it impossible for him to have any offspring.

And I say that even though I have the utmost sympathy for guys that hurt that region in any way.

My friend, its simple, the majority of folks that really play those games are youngsters, they are filled with piss and vinager. Youngins' are essentially a childs mind in an adults body, when they mature they "mellow out" or they are supposed to.;) Those shows and clips are full of youthful immatures, that bark like dogs but don't really say or solve anything. Kind of like stupid Merican tv talk shows, nothing get resolved, and everyone is pissed off. It makes for sensational entertainment, like a wrestling match or a stupid teen movie. If they are still violent as an adult there is a great place for em' Its called jail, nothing will straighten out a youngster like some time behind bars. I blame the parents, and schools in general....;) 65deb8c78634baf0225d3812a43f6dde.jpg
