Sydney shut her eyes as horror filled her sending chills over her body.
She instantly recognised the voice even the dark. . .
It was Kevin. . . . .

Time to say bu-bye to Kevin. I'm betting Sydney will be putting her ex-partner out of commission. Hopefully before Kevin realizes it's her.

Thanks for the PM.

Chris

You are awsome ;)
I'll book you a place in "I don't like Kevin ( 🍅) " club. Right next to Vaughn :naughty:

grrr stupid kevin
always ruining EVERYTHIN
i mean it was a simple covert extraction and Kevin had to go spoil it
damn him

You know sometimes there are just certain people that ruin everything! Why did he have to know she was there getting him out? I agree that she could just shoot him, not kill him or anything but shooting him is a good idea. Does that make me a bad person??? Can't wait for another update!

oh my god!!!! i love it!!!!

i acctually thought that this was another story (one i dont read but i cant be bothered getting off the pm list) cos i read soooo many stories that i get the titles (and sometimes even the plot) mixed up... so that is why you havent heard form me in ages...

Chapter Seven.

Sydney froze, her entire body breaking out into a thin sheen of sweat.
She had planned this out so perfectly. . .So precisely.
What the hell was Kevin doing here?
She had even went so far as to call Kevin, to make sure that he was at home . . .
And asleep.
And yet now. . .
The place was pitch dark. .
Therefore Kevin couldnt see her. . .
"Whoever the hell you are come out now!" Kevin shouted his loud voice echoing throughout the deathly silent Building.
"Sydney. . " Micheal leaned down to whisper in her ear.
She looked up at him.
"You have to go. . .
I'll stay and confront him." Micheal softly urged her.
He couldnt bear the thought that she might get hurt or captured because of him.
Sydney shook her head vehemently.
"No! . .No way. . .We're in this together. .
I Am Not Leaving You." she hissed.
Micheal nodded struggling to swallow the intense emotions flooding through.
He couldnt believe she actually cared so much for him.
Nobody ever had.
"On the count of three. . ." Sydney instructed.
"One.
Two.
Three.
Go." she ran forward with him next to her as they made their way to the door.
"Hey! What the hell do you think youre doing?" Kevin shouted enraged.
Sydney's eyes widened in horror as she heard the next sound.
The sound of a gun being cocked.
Kevin was about to open fire on them. . .
He was going to break the CIA rules. . .
That meant shooting first. . . and asking questions later. . .

"Hurry" Sydney whispered as they ran down the corridor.
She felt a bullet, whiz past her head and she flinched.
They were just ten centimetres from the doorway. . .
When it happened.
Micheal cried out softly. . .
As the bullet hit him.
'Micheal!' she screamed his name. . .Not even sure at that moment if it had been aloud, . .Or in her heart. Her heart was pounding so fast with fear, that she was afraid that she might pass out.
Gasping, he fell to the floor and Sydney fell beside him.
"Micheal. . Oh God. . " she was nearly whimpering in terror.
"Syd. . " he grasped her arm.
"Im okay. . .It hit my knee. . ."
he gasped.
Relief coursed through as she quickly helped him to his feet.
She could hear Kevin stumbling around in the darkness and her face, tightened in anger.
No way was she going to let that son of a bitch catch them.
Just three more steps and they burst out into the night.
Sydney nearly cursed out loud, as the moon chose that moment to come out from behind the clouds and shine down on them.
They ducked down behind a bush
"I've got a car just two metres from the gate." she gasped and he nodded quickly.
Within seconds they made it out of the gate, the guard still apparently knocked out from earlier.
She helped him into the front passengers seat, her face a mask of pain as she stared at the blood running down his pants leg.
"Syd. . .They'll be time for this later. . .Im okay." he spoke quickly seeing her hesitation.
She nodded and ran around to the drivers side.
Seconds later the car peeled away into the night, the tires screeching just as Kevin ran up to the gates.
He tried desperately to shoot the tires, in an attempt to stall the car. . .
But it was too late. . .
The little white Ford Focus had disappeared into the night. . .

Sydney kept glancing in the rearview mirror, fearful that they might be followed by Kevin.
Much to her relief however the roads were dead quite at this unearthly hour of the morning.
"We can stop at your old house. . .The Willows. . " Sydney glanced at him.
Micheal looked up at her surprised.
"How did you know. . " he began in surprise.
Sydney winced, but knew she had to say her next words. .
If nothing but to just get it off her chest.
"When i was . .When i was with you i had perused your briefcase.
I saw all your assets. . .
The manor you have in Switzaland and London. . ."
Micheal sank back in his seat, drinking in her words.
"Anyway the only asset of yours the CIA isnt aware of is your Manor 'The Willows, which is ten minutes away. . "
he laughed shortly.
She looked at him, inwardly glad to see a smile playing on his lips.
"You have to admit. . Its pretty funny that the CIA knows nearly everything about me. . .
Yet they arent aware of a manor which is only ten minutes away from headquaters. . "
Sydney laughed.
"Oh yeah. . .And off course they dont know about your account in Portugal. . ."
his eyes widened.
"You mean. . .You didnt tell them?" he murmured in disbelief.
"Sydney. . .Youve done so much for me. . ." he began.
"Dont. . .Please. . " she interupted him.
"Why?" he whispered.
She bit her lips as she stared at the road ahead.
"Because. . .You know we cant make each other any promises. . "
He felt almost stung by her words. . .
Yet he truly understood what she meant.
In their line of work, losing someone. . .
Was nothing new.
The idea of losing her, nearly crippled him with pain and he grimaced.

"Micheal. . " she whispered staring at his lap.
"Youre bleeding. . " she quickly drove into the yard of the house and got out of the car.
"Syd its okay. . Really. . "
he began then fell silent as she shot him a look.
She helped him into the manor leading him to the bedroom.
He fell back on the bed, groaning in pain as he heard her rummaging in the bathroom for a first aid kit.
She returned seconds later and sat down on the bed next to him.
He glanced up at her,
studying the way her hair fell around her shoulder, in perfect waves framing her face.
He was entranced by her beauty that he didnt even feel more than a slight sting as she dabbed his wound with antiseptic.
"Thankfully the bullet just grazed you. . ." she said softly as she wrapped a strip of gauze around his knee.
"My angelic nurse. . ." he whispered feeling throughly smitten.
She smiled down at him, her gentle fingers dancing across his face.
"Sydney. . .I love. . ." he began his voice a near croak but she gently silenced him by placing her fingertips over his lips.
"Micheal. . .No Promises?
Remember?" she whispered.
He nodded reluctantly.
She was about to get up when she felt his hand tighten around her wrist.
"Dont go. . .Just yet. . .
Please?" he asked her his intense green eyes pleading silently with her.
She nodded and gently lay beside him, curling her body fit his,
and placing her head against his chest.
It just fit so well there. .
Almost as if it was meant to be.
All the so calledly questionable acts she had commited tonight suddenly seemed to fade in the distance.
She sighed softly as she felt his fingers run gently through her hair.
Life held so much in store for them. . .
Tomorrow was choked in uncertainty and doubt. . .
But right now all she wanted to be was right here.
With him beside her.
Please Review.
