OH MY GOD! A HORSE FORUM! I was sooo happy when I saw this. I am such a horse lover. My room has horses on every wall, my bed spread, my floor, my mirror, everywhere! I've been riding for four or five years now, and I'm 16 so it seems like a long time for me.
I used to ride a Saddlebred named Anna, and a Quarter horse named Whiskey, then I changed stables. There I rode a Quarter horse named Kozy then was tld to try out a horse that wasn't ridden in 12 years. She was a Percheron/Thoroughbred cross, size of a Percheron, speed of a racehorse. She hated everyone, except me. She tested me that whole night, but after that, the slightest touch of the leg to the side would send her off the rail into a diagonal across the ring. She was awesome.
Then I moved onto Sting, a Haflinger Pony. Once again, I got the stubborn horse everyone hated, except me. He just wanted a friend who didn't hit him or give up on him. I asked him to do things, not told him to. He would follow me everywhere. Once I went out to get him and his owner was like to someone, "Watch him now. He'll turn and run away and he'll keep doing that until he gets tired." I went right up to Sting and cliped on his lead rope. I went to the Haflinger Nationals with him to Ohio. 4th in barrels and 6th in English Pleasure in the first show. Then in the big one, 2nd in Western Pleasure! The best time of my life.
Now I'm at another stable. I ride Sunny (look at my user name). He's a paint that once again hates everyone. He hated me for a bit, but now we're buds. He still tries to get away with things, but gives into me more than he gives into his owner. I love that horse.
Gosh, am I glad I found this forum.
