I thing it is a terrible thing to bash an actress for the role she plays on a show!
Melissa George is a fine actress and I had liked her in "Thieves" and think she does a wonderful job playing Sydney Bristow's Nemesis!
h34r:
I like the suspense and drama she adds to Alias and I think it is better to show the sexual tension between Vaughn and Sydney for when that goes sometimes the show doesn't seem as intense!
I think it is dangerous that fans identify with a show's character such as Sydney Bristow as if she is real person -- their best friend who has been hurt by Lauren Reed Vaughn/Melissa George.
This is a fantasy show and if you cannot differentiate yourself from fantasy TV to real life -- it could effect your real world experiences.
This is a show to enjoy and be entertained -- not to identify your whole life to such as the "JG and MV relationship" and the "Sydney and Vaughn" relationship vs. the "Lauren and Vaughn" relationship.
Viewers should learn to detach themselves from Television and Movies and the stars from real life!
I think if you tend to be intellectual and like the plots/twists and science fiction element you tend to enjoy the show regardless of the triangle and in fact can appreciate the plot twist
-- but if you are into the actors and characters only... then you are more in danger of the 'I living in an ALIAS dream world!"
to enjoying a good Spy-Sci Fi drama on ABC.
A petition against the Actress/character is so wrong --
all the negative hate stuff is so wrong
-- but I think that Melissa George would be disappointed not to be regular anymore on Alias but would be glad to be on the show anyway if she was just brought on for some fights with Sydney and Vaughn and other CIA agents from time to time on ALIAS throughout the next six years
if it continues that long -- which I hope it does for it is a good drama show.
With all the new characters and possible new story plot line twists to come on ALIAS that was bound to happen anyway -- whether or not her character on ALIAS was accepted and liked!
Well anyway, I think Melissa George is a fine good actress and have liked the story and tense she has brought to ALIAS!
I hope they do some more interesting things with Lauren on the show even if it is from time to time!
Enjoy your day and evening!
