Sci-Fi Evidence of a Parallel Universe or not?

I think I was abducted once. When I was 12 years old I woke up in the dark of night and found myself floating above my bed. At first I thought it was shear terror that prevented me from struggling to get away but then I realised I couldn't move a muscle. I felt highly constricted and extremely heavy, which threw me into mental turmoil as it conflicted with the idea that I was levitating. For some reason I felt compelled to force myself to look down towards my feet where to my horror I saw an ugly Elvin type creature attempting a smile that turned into more of a grimace. I then noticed the larger one in the corner of the room and believe me when I say the little guy was a thing of beauty by comparison. I tried to scream but it vocalised as a deep reverberating growl that seemed to go on for ages. I’m not sure what happened next but I think I fainted. I believe I was woken up moments later after I felt a sharp needle in my eye. Covered in sweat I was almost too scared to open my eyes but when I did I was blinded by the light. It was mid morning and the sun was shining through the gap in the curtains and down onto my face. I am the first to admit this could have just been a nasty childhood dream but one thing I do remember is that it was the middle of winter and I woke up with a suntan and I’ve had darkened skin ever since.

Do I believe in abduction??? I’m not sure I even returned. My fear is that I may have been replaced. I may be a sleeper and one day I’ll hear a voice in my head and my true identity and the reason I am here on this planet will be revealed.

:smiley: GA Carter: I didn't know I had any abductions until I was ready to retire. It was kept secret from me most of my life.
If you want to, you can find a person who specializes in hypnotic regression in your area and see what you can remember. Be careful when you do it. Make sure the hypnotherapist has a good reputation. Discuss with him or her if you should do it.:smiley:

I'm wary of hypnotists. My mum was hypnotised on stage and told she was a dog. For weeks after she spent weeks lapsing back to her dog state, even yelping in her sleep. She ended up convincing herself that she must have been a dog in a former life. Hypnotic suggestion is a powerful thing so one would have to have a great deal of trust in the hypnotist. My concern is that there is always someone wanting to make a fast buck so there will be more than one or two out there who provide suggestions under hypnosis in order to get punters to come back time after time. And how would you know that you were not one of those being duped.

A friend of mine went to lessons to be a hypnotist and when practicing he ended up putting his cat in a hypnotic trance that eventually killed it. The cat went into some sort of catatonic state (pardon the pun) and stopped eating. Maybe we could patent the idea as a cure for obesity because I've put on so much weight in the last few years that I must exist in both this and our nearest parallel universes (one is just not big enough to contain me!).

Seriously...if I have been abducted and they have carried out experiments to see how vulnerable we humans are, I have no doubt I have done the human race a service as the results would lead aliens to a false sense of security. I would be the first to admit that I'm not the best specimen.

There's another point. How do we know that the alien is from outer space...he may be from a neighbouring parallel universe that according to some scientists, could be just a micron from our own (using the same space but in a different dimension).

:smiley::D That is why I said SPECIALIZES in hypnosis, as a psychologist would, NOT a STAGE HYPNOTIST.
STAGE HYPNOTISTS do that for FUN. THAT could be dangerous. When I say "alien" I mean from a place we say is not our definition of reality. Could be another dimension, or another planet. Could be Inner Earth, also.:smiley::smiley:

Both the stage and the psychologist who use hypnotism are specialists but I understand what you mean. I don't know that I can be hypnotised. My doctor tried it once and was furious with me because he said I wasn't taking it seriously. I was but it was just not happening. I have read about people under hypnotic regression talking in various languages. Some of the documented occurrences are mind blowing. It begs the question...have these individuals been alive before or could they be soaking up some kind of energy force that is being emitted from an alternative self that exists in another dimension. There are books and theories published and I suspect still to be written that would support this.

I'm sure abduction is going on. Given the statistics life must be plentiful in the universe, from simple bacteria to advance beings that are way beyond our intelligence or technological knowledge. If I was an alien looking in on an inferior species I would go down the route of abduction. We humans do it already. We take specimens from the wild all the time. Some are dissected and others are weighed, tagged and released but we take samples of everything...hair, skin, blood and the list goes on.
