After reading all of the posts, I've got to say that season 3 really was a Great season!
I agree too, I think it's good that we can actually talk about the good things of Alias because lately a lot of people have been talking about how bad this season was (including me) and it's nice to just remember that Alias is still the best show in the world!!

I liked The episodes with Merrin Dungrey(The Nemesis and Remnants)... Alyson is a really good character and hopefully they'll bring her back.....

Plus the scene with weiss and sydney taking to Toni Cummings(such a Porn star Name)....

this is just what me and eva were saying tonight!!!!! from rewatching the episodes!!!!

we reckon the reason we disliked so mnuch was the big breaks between episodes making us all think too much about stuff - like Laurens inconsistencies etc.

so much good stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (y)
I agree... I think alot of people were frustrated with the breaks. And then there was this big "snowball" effect on this forum where people voiced their frustrations and it just kept gathering steam.

I think Season 3, as a whole, ended up alot better than many expected. I started getting some answers I had been waiting for.... and I can only hope that with the finale I'll have even more answered. ;)

I'm still going to say that they made some mistakes, notably doing two things that simultaneously ratcheted up the frustration factor--a) creating a long-term unbreakable impasse in Sydney and Vaughn's relationship, and b) creating a problem storyline (the amnesia)--that generates frustration as a side-effect. The first storyline (Vaughn's marriage) introduced a problem character (the still-inconsistent Lauren) who is still causing some lingering frustration.

Yes, I was patient with them and waited, and yes, they eventually worked their way out of their problems (and they even started coughing up the occasional clue to tease us with!)--but I'm not going to let them totally off the hook and say, "Now I think that season 3 was every bit as good as the first two seasons"! It had some great moments--terrific ones--and the shoot-up/execution scene was one of the greats . . . I'd love to see Ron Rifkin get a nom out of that . . . but I refuse to get carried away. Mistakes were made, and I want to see them learn from them.

Now let them take care of Lauren . . . with some sort of dignity & grace . . . good luck . . .
-_-

I agree with many people that my fave was the hug scene in Facade. In fact, I watched that episode over yesterday because I like it so much.

I CAN'T believe no one has mentioned the episode with WILL!?!??!! It was the best episode the entire season. (Okay maybe that's stretching it...) but still. Sydney was finally whole again. She had her Will back, although I personally thought she treated him like s***. In particular I loved the scene when Will thinks Sydney is a clone, and pulls the gun on her. We finally see Sydney with her life out of the CIA. (which is what the seaon has been missing)

However, if we were going with the episode that had me out of my chair screaming "yes that's the Alias that I know and love", would have to be Unveiled. It was the only time in which I actually respected Lauren and her ability to deceive. And then I LOVED the scene with Vaughn and Jack. They were both amazing actors. Both deserve a Grammy for that performance.

I agree with you! I also liked the scene with Syd and Will at the hotel.

By far when Syd told Vaughn off in the first episode of Season three...about faith. That was awesome. I love them as a couple, but she was great in it!

Even though I've had complaints with S3, there are still a TON of scenes I loved this season. I'll try to be brief.

Favorite S/V scenes (a tie!):

The almost kiss at the airport (Prelude)
The hug (Facade)

Favorite Jack/Syd scene:

Sydney's visit to Jack in prison (The Two)

Favorite Jack/Sloane scene:

Scene from prison - Sloane's last glass of wine (Hourglass)

Favorite Vaughn/Jack scene:

"I used to think you didn't have much of a spine" (Conscious)

Favorite Action scene (a tie):

Will and Syd in Graz (Remnants)
Jack, Sloane, and Vaughn (Breaking Point)
Syd and the guards (Hourglass)

Kiss in North Korea "Crossings"
Hug in CIA garage (Rick Gervais was a guest star"
Jack telling Syd in the car that he would still have grat love for her as his daughter for whatever worse outcome ....
Vaughn telling Lauren "we should separate I am not happy"
Vaughn dropping the gun per Sark's threat "if you really love her"
Rick Gervais dialogue "I did not know Sark was a Pretty Boy"
Vaughn asking Weiss for a couch sleep over
All Marshall scenes
come to think a lot more (actions scenes and settings are masterpieces)
Season 1 - 99% Great
Season 2 - 101% Great
Season 3 - 90% very good
