Fox facing $1.2 million fine
How can the FCC have so much power in the "land of the free"?
I mean sure, there has to be regulation to some degree over what we hear and watch on TV, but a $1.2 million fine? Ever since the accident of Janet's breast, which was shown for no more than 1 ridiculous second, the FCC, with its clear ties to the Bush administration (Powell Jr.), is clearly abusing its power and stepping all over the first amendment.
As Bill Maher puts it, there is no real freedom in this country when compared to Europe.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
BTW, NBC is so scared of the FCC that they actually had to put a delay on broadcasts of NASCAR racing because someone in the public said the F-word and it was heard. I don't care about NASCAR, but if that ever happened to hockey, I'd be totally pissed. This is getting ridiculous.
