Web Stuff First Impression

When you visit a forum for the first time, does your first impression change whether you join or not?
I look for better contents first. and then comes the looks and stats of he forum. A good looking and active forum is worth joining!

Obviously the first impression is a major factor. I prefer joining good looking forums with some or many active members..

I always check how many members the community has and then new posts, If I see it doesn't have much flaming going on I usually like it..

Yeah, mainly if I see a free-forum, than I'm 99% of the time going to just leave the website. For me people whom use free hosts (specially free forum hosting). Just come off to me as I'm not that committed to my website and or forum. I mean yes, there are TONS of forums out there that are ran on free hosts that have huge member database etc..

But that's just me.
