First Person Shooters-PS2 and PC

Any suggestions as to good PC FPS w/ free online play (other than Halo) or a good PS2 FPS w/ good two player and story mode?

As far as the PS2 goes, they really only have Socom.

Very unlikely. CS:S is a pathetic game compared to Dystopia, PVKII, NeoTokyo, and ZombiePanic alone. Hell, Natural Selection, The Specialists, and Action HalfLife are for HL1, yet are better by leaps and bounds. That's not just a biased opinion either.

Source's new mods tho are hot as hell as well. Plus a lot of indy firms are doing wonders with the physics.

I'm afraid I've just never seen why CS:S is so popular. It honestly baffles me as I look around and see so many better* games.

Well better's a matter of opinion. The games built off the ol' HL engine are that, old. Source is offering up more. Plus it plays great. Mods great, just more of the same just updated. Change is good!

As I have said many times before, CS and CS:S are "pick up and play" simple. They don't require a whole lot of learning, which is why it appeals to many players. When I said those mods were better, it was a deduction of common logic. When Game B has everything Game A has, does it just as good, and STILL has alot more content, that to me is "better." Of course, you might be Game A biased, and be "hardcore" and that jazz, which is fine.

Well, my love of CS:Source is kinda biased because I'm not a regular player. I'm a surfer. Surf maps only. And I've never seen another FPS with something that enjoyable in it.

No, a new Medal of Honor came out w/ subtitle Vangaurd. WWII game, looks pretty good.
