Web Stuff Free vs. Paid forum software

Do you like to go with free or paid forum software?

I really do not mind which one I get stuck with, but I would prefer a paid forum software.

Free forum software, preferably Open Source, licensed under a good license (such as GPLv3 or the BSD).

Paid forum software is usually like $100-200, something which I can't afford.

Free software such as MyBB gets the job done well, so I don't really see a need for paid software.

I currently use a free forum software but I hope to get vBulletin when the forum becomes very active.

I looked at vB for my forum when I decided I needed to get rid of phpBB. It was around the time of the price hikes and the release of vB4 and I decided MyBB was a better option mainly based on the price increase. Had I looked 6 months earlier I'd probably have stumped up for a vB licence. No chance of that now with the way vB4 has turned out. I've never been keen on IPB so for me the best option, paid or free, is MyBB.
