Friends Forever!

I was searching for a poem for a dear friend of mine, I gave this to her as a love of our friendship! I have lots of friends, but I only has a few close ones! :angelic:

In Kindergarten your idea of
A good friend was the person who
let you have the red crayon when all
That was left was the ugly brown one.

In 1st grade your idea of a
Good friend was the person who went
To the bathroom with you and held
Your hand as you walked through the
Scary halls.

In 2nd grade your idea of a
Good friend was the person who
Helped you to stand up to the class bully.

In 3rd grade your idea of a
Good friend was the person who
Shared their lunch with you
When you forgot yours on the bus.

In 4th grade your idea of a
Good friend was the person who
Was willing to switch square-dancing
Partners in gym so you wouldn't
Have to be stuck do-si-doing with
Nasty Nick or Smelly Samantha.

In 5th grade your idea of a friend
Was the person who saved a seat on
The back of the bus for you.

In 6th grade your idea of a
Friend was the person who went
Up to your new crush and asked them
To dance with you, so that if
They said no you wouldn't have to be
Embarrassed.

In 7th grade your idea of a
Friend was the person who let
You copy the social studies homework
From the night before that you had not done.

In 8th grade your idea of a
Friend was the person who helped
You pack up your stuffed animals and
Old soccer cards so that your
Room would be "high schooler" room,
But didn't laugh at you when you
Finished and broke into tears.

In 9th grade your idea of a
Good friend was the person who
Went to that "cool party" thrown by a
Senior so that you would not be
The only freshman there.

In 10th grade your idea of a
Good friend was the person who
Drove you to school before you could
Drive so you wouldn't have to
Ride the bus.

In 11th grade your idea of a
Good friend was the person who
Convinced your parents that you
Shouldn't be grounded, consoled you
When you broke up with your sweetie,
Made time for you even when they
Had a sweetie.

In 12th grade your idea of a
Good friend was the person who
Helped you pick out a college,
Assured you that you would get into
That college, helped you deal with your
Parents who were having a hard time
Adjusting to the idea of letting you go.

At graduation your idea of a
Good friend was the person who
Was crying on the inside but managed
The biggest smile one could give
As they congratulated you.

The summer after 12th grade
Your idea of a good friend was
The person who helped you clean up the
(root beer) bottles from that party,
Helped you sneak out of the house
When you just couldn't deal with
Your parents, helped you pack for
College and just silently hugged you as
You looked through blurry eyes at
18 years of memories you were
Leaving behind.

Now, your idea of a good friend
Is still the person who gives you
The better of two choices,
Holds your hand when you're scared,
Helps you fight off those who try
To take advantage of you,
Thinks of you at times when you are not there,
Reminds you of what you have forgotten,
Helps you put the past behind you
But understands when you need to
Hold on to it a little longer,
Stays with you so that you have confidence,
Goes out of their way to make time for you,
Helps you clear up your mistakes,
Helps you deal with pressure from others,
Smiles for you when you are sad,
Helps you become a better person,
And most importantly loves you!

THANK YOU FOR BEING MY FRIEND.

i love that poem....

i am probably going to missquote this but... "Friends are like angels...they lift you up when you are unable to fly" its something like that...i really like it!

Hmmm...I want to say this to my Best friend Brittany.... You Will Always Be My Soul Sistah!!

I have had a few BFs since I was real little and they still are my best friends. And we have made a promise to stay that way till were old, gray , and wrinkley! LOL

i have this whole big qoute book on friends, ill have to dig it out of my room and post some!
i dont have tons of friends, i just have a very small tight knit group which fine by me!

I found this little saying somewhere, I'll probably say it wrong but, "Friends are those who reach for your hands but touch your hearts" or something....I thought that was true...

That's a very sweet poem! Though, I don't have any real friends to share it with... Oh well, I can practice on my Furby!
But, I do have this little thing I wrote on Friends, if one on minds hearing it

Friends~
Some people are surprised when I say that I don't have any close friends, but that's the way it's always been for me. Friends are hard to find, good and truthful frinds that is. The most important trait I look for in a friend is trust.
I like it when someone really gets to know me, and when I can get to know them. Building trust takes time, honesty and being real with eachother is the first step. If you lie to your friend, making yourself apear "Cool" to them, then a barrier apears betwen you and won't let down till you tell them the truth. If or when you tell them that you lied and are not who you say you are, that trust is broken. Friends don't just pop up. Treasure them to the fullest extent and don't play with there trust. Trust is extremly fradgile and is not ealily fixable once broken. Cracks can be filled in, but thre is always a small scar where it once craked...

That's part of my sig too! ^_^

i love the part thats in your sig! very true, very true the whole thing!(offtopic:happy 99th birthday!lol!i know its not your 99th but happy b-day!)*brings out a cake*

Offtopic: Oh thanky, I love cake, but I think I just added two pounds of cake today so I might need to pass on that! :P Ok, another thing I wrote, if no one minds, again (I might not have a friend, but I can think about how I should act when I do!)
