Fantasy George R.R. Martin's "Game of Thrones"

You know the thing that gets me about this guy? Doing the whole Tolkien RR thing in the name... ugh. Makes me not want to open the book.

... just got to get past the gag-reflex on that one. The books are are good, really good.

Ditto. I thought "what a dink" when I saw his name... I've read the first book in the series... once I finish my current books, I'll be reading the rest. You're right though, I was happily engrossed in the first book.

Damn you Wheel of Time Series.. Next book isn't until Nov 28th.

That's Robert Jordan, not George R. R. Martin... though I am currently reading book four of The Wheel of Time ;) hehe

and book 2 of The Game of Thrones sits on my shelf, waiting for me to finish...

I know, I'm just saying I don't feel like picking up another series until I finish this one. Granted it has it's up and downs, I still have to remain faithful.

What? You don't read multiple books at a time? ;)

I usually have two books going at once, a longer one (say a Tom Clancy book) and a shorter one. The shorter ones come and go while the longer ones I tend to drag out for a while. One crazy time I did have 4 novels going on at once.

Does this mean I need a social life?

I guess you could say I've got 4 series going on at the moment... I'm reading the George R. R. Martin 'Game of Thrones' series, the David Eddings 'Elder Gods' series, Terry Brooks, I just finished 'Tannequil' from the latest Shanarra series, and I'm reading Robert Jordan's 4th book in 'The Wheel of Time' series. Once in a while I also pick up some books from Neil Gaimon... having just read 'American Gods'.

;)

I think I've got about three movels on the go at present... I can't even remember what one of them is...!

Heh.. You can't remember the book, much less the characters, geography, plot lines, etc. That's why I try to stick to one at a time.

Exactly so... I think it might be a B5 novelisation, too, which is chock-full of plot twists and turns and characters and... yeah... I might have to start that one again, I think.
