Good Misery Music

what sort of angst? slow and sad? or angry and frantic or stupidly complicated or 3 chord?

cant go wrong with

Tool
Korn
Metallica
Queens of the Stone age
The Living End
Smashing Pumpkins

Silverchair....all I ever hear, I live in Newcastle Australia where there from....man, talk about uppity back when they thought they were the 2nd coming....they have either broken up now or taken a hiatus while Daniel Johns does his thing with Paul Mac in The Disassociatives (spelling)

Dreamtheater is a bit too much for me. The whole "Change of Seasons" thing is impressive I guess but not for me. "Change of Seasons" is a 25 minute song for anyone who doesn't know Dreamtheater.

k, are we looking for angst or pure, genuine misery? elliott smith IS misery. and he sure qualifies as guitar-strumming, although probably not what you had in mind.

ooh, his las album is being released now, i'm happy. :woot:

 Creed

or Lacuna Coil ... they're great but they say it's gothic  don't really think of it as gotich though ... "Heaven's a Lie" by them is such a great song :Punkrock: heavy guitars and then some :Playmusic: love it :D
