Graphic novels

For those of you who don't know, graphic novels are like comic books but longer. I've read Frank Milller's Sin City, The Hard Goodbye and That Yellow Bastard. The Big Fat Kill was sold out but I did enjoy the ones that I had read. They were so dark but I really got into them!

The first grahic novel that I read was by Real World's Judd Winick who is also a comic strip artist. Pedro and Me is about him and his castmate the late Pedro Zamora. Pedro was a well-known HIV/AIDS educator and gay activisit. He was also a person living with the disease and sadly, he passed away a few months after the show wrapped filming.

Anyway, Judd writes about his life, Pedro's and their friendship. It's interesting to see how he used a comic format to do so, but I personally liked it. I would highly recommend this GN to anyone but beware it is a tear jerker!
