First off, long time reader--first time poster...can't recall how many good conversations I've seen on here!
I live in Chicago and we have a "Geek Bar" (called "Geek Bar"..ha) that is doing something that sounds pretty cool--they have a site with free original fiction from some local writers along with the standard reviews, opinion pieces, etc.
They are of varying degrees of quality, however, I really did like the Adventures of Duke LaGrange serial that's out there. It's quite funny and intriguing--and cool it's on a free site (it seems a new "chapter" is released every few weeks). I'm a HHGTTG fan so it's in my wheelhouse. Never heard of the author so I'm assuming it's a first-timer or a local talent but I wanted to see if anyone has read it, thoughts, etc. The Beyond, Beyond serial is also pretty good. Once again, never heard of that author either.
