Holes (2003)

Holes is an amazing book and it is now going to be put on the big screen. Are you excited? I know I am. The previews don't look bad either.

Here is a movie synopsis:

Crime/Gangster, Thriller and Drama
1 hr. 51 min. A teenager, Stanley Yelnats (La Beouf), sent to Camp Green Lake, a Texas detention camp, for a crime (stealing a pair of sneakers) he didn't commit. There, he and the other boys are forced by the warden (Weaver), a fiery woman who paints her nails with snake venom, to dig holes as something of a "character-building experience." Each day, each boy must dig a hole five feet deep and wide, in the long-dry rock that was once the bottom of Green Lake.

MPAA Rating: PG for violence, mild language and some thematic elements.

Release Date: April 18th, 2003 (wide).

READ THE BOOK IF YOU HAVEN"T ALREADY!

We need to be careful not to leak out spoilers until after the movie comes out. I'm saying read the book everyone!

I read the books several times...twice on my own and for some weird reason we read it in 7th grade as a class....strange thing was I was in "accelerated english" wonder what the regualr class was doing. this is what happens when schools don't have enough funds. lol but I enjoyed the book. fun fun fun! aww the onion man and mary lou! zero's pronunciation...Maar-yuuuh L-ooww! somthing along those lines. i read it a year ago...

I was a good book i think i read it once on my own then we had to read it for summer reading. Anyway icant belive they are making a movie out of it!!!! I mean i think it is good but strange and it would make an exceptionally odd type of movie. It is like i could not understand how they made tuck everlasting into a movie

I was really suprised they were making the book into a movie too, my mouth dropped open when I saw the trailer for it. I believe that La Beouf is going to be Stanley Yelnats or another character, he was the Ren's brother on Even Stevens, I didn't watch it so I cant' remember names.

Shia LaBeoufs name in Even Stevens is Louis. OH and sorry i shouldnt leak any spoilers for the movie. i need to keep my mouth shut.

*goes off to staple mouth shut*

Thanks for the names! Perfectly OK! I completely agree with you on the donkey and onion man. It was sad. I wonder how they'll put the book to movie, on the preview they showed a shot of some of the holes. I looked really pretty cool. Um, wasn't Stanley supposed to be "chubby"? Shia Labeouf isn't "chubby" is he?

I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!! I first read that book in 3rd grade, and after that I bought it and read it over and over again!!! I can't wait untill the movie comes out!!!!

Just looking at the previews... it didnt look at all like what i imagined, so i dont think it will be very close. I dunno, maybe im just corrupted by how good lotr was, but it just doesnt look like its gonna be close at all.
