Drama Hotel Rwanda

Has anyone else seen this movie? Because I’ve got to say, I think it’s the best I’ve seen all year, and there were a couple others I loved. It’s certainly the best movie that is in English that I’ve seen.

I thought it dealt with the subject so well, always seeming real, never getting cheesy. And it was so EMOTIONAL, I was actually sobbing at parts of it, so much that I had to cover my mouth so I didn’t sob too loudly. The scene where the Europeans just left, and they wouldn’t even take the orphans…that was possibly the scene that hit me the most emotionally, ever, in any movie. Heartbreaking, and also infuriating. I have never been so ashamed of my country and all of the other western powers.

Anyone else have thoughts?

I haven't seen it yet, agnes, but I plan on seeing it soon. There's two movies I plan to see first, then I plan on seeing Hotel Rwanda. It looks so good, so emotional, and just really well done and acted.

i saw it and i thought it was phenomenal. Don Cheadle definitely should have gotten the oscar for his performance. agnes, i had the same problem you did. i was shaking so hard with sobs sometimes. the scene you mentioned when the Europeans left was one of the hardest scenes to watch. i also thought a particularly moving scene was when Paul comes back from getting supplies and the van runs over the dead bodies, and when he gets to the hotel, he just breaks down in sobs by himself - like the reality is finally too much for him. Paul is truly one of the great heroes of our time. this one man saved over 1200 people, Hutus and Tutsis alike.

One thing everyone should remember is that a very similar thing is happening in Sudan's Darfur region. let's not stand idly by this time: Hot Sex Pics, Best XXX Photos and Free Porn Images on www.focusporn.com

Thank you for that link. After reading the how to help page, a friend and I have decided to start fundraising/raising awareness at our school.

I'm waiting for this movie to come out on DVD (this upcoming Tuesday), then I'm bumping it to the top of my Netflix queu. I watched some clips, and the movie looks phenomenal. I can't wait to see it.

I really want to see it. It's coming to my campus theater the weekend of the 22nd and I'm planning on seeing it there.

I've been wanting to see it, but it never really got anywhere close.

It looks amazing though.

I finally saw it. Good ol' AP U.S. History class (we were studying genocide). Anyways, what an amazing and powerful movie. It definitely made me sob at parts, it was just so tragic, but then there were the parts that it was uplifting. I especially loved the ending with Paul's family and the other orphans walking and singing. And Paul truly is a hero. I mean he saved 1200 people, not caring whether they were Hutu or Tutsi. Just an amazing movie.

Wow...I just...wow.

I finally saw it tonight, and it was amazing. I cried my eyes out the entire movie, never realizing how bad the situation was (I was much too young at the time).

Don Cheadle should've won the Oscar hands down...he was phenomenal. Paul is a true hero in ever sense of the word.

I saw the movie and i just cried on the part when everyone was glad that the americans or somebody were bringing people away from the hotel and they would only take the white people even if they didnt want to go. i was really sad but i was just filled with anger against that. i just wanted to punch something.

I saw this a couple of weeks ago and I loved it! It was very emotional and I couldn't help feeling so angry and shocked when they just took the tourists away and left the others there!? After seeing the movie I did some research and I was really shocked. I do remember reading something about this in school but I never knew how bad the situation was there..

Don Cheadle was amazing in it and he's really working his way on to my favorite actor. And he's kind of cute :angelic:
