You will need:
Any version of XP installed
One .dll file
Less than 5 minutes
Step 1:
Download uxthemedll:
If you are using SP1: Download UXTHEME.DLL Pack (DLL for SP1 included)
If you are using SP2: Download UXTheme Patch For Windows XP SP2 Final
If you are using SP3: Blog | Rafael Rivera
Step 2:
Fine you system folder: "C:\WINDOWS\System32"
Step 3:
When you get to that folder find the file: "uxtheme.dll"
Delete it
If you cannot delete it: Click Here
Step 4:
Go to the file you downloaded in step 1 and replace it with the file in the system folder. You may be prompted with warnings, this is normal. You may also require to be a administrator for this to work.
Step 5:
Reboot your computer and you are done.
Step 6:
When you download your custom theme you must extract or copy it to: "C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes"
Step 7:
Right click on your desktop and hit "Properties", and click the Theme drop down menu and navigate to your newly installed theme.
