Just a reminder... this was posted in the Creative Writing forum, not Science or the general Sci-Fi & Fantasy forum. If somebody creates a short story (or verse or poem or is role playing or almost anything else that might be considered to be an original item) and says that in their world the sky is green instead of blue then they should not be expecting to have their thread turn into a debate about whether a green sky is possible.

And, why assume that any one science rules the multiverse?

As the Humanoid agent of 'Boorg Industries Intergalactic" {a member of the 'Boorg Group' of advancing artificial intelligences}, I can personally assure you that Human science in the Milky Way, though often correct and effective, will not and does not work in other galaxies.

Feel limited by the 'speed of ligjht"? - in the Gamma 7B Flux Cluster, the speed of light is considered slow
- One reason so called 'UFOs' seem to appear and disappear as if by magic. - no magic, they are
governed by another science of another world.

So while the Human concept of 'warp-drive' to get you there faster is feasible - it is backward and
primitive. Boorg Industries discovered eons ago the interstellar matrix of what your sci-fi
writers sometimes call hyperspace. {in essence you jump out of your universe at one point, enter
the interstellar matrix, and with correct timing maneuvers come back in, often light years away
from where you left.

And let us never forget the great Human philosopher 'Professor Irwin Corey'
who made the very profoud observation:

'WHEREVER YOU GO - THERE YOU ARE!"

My post here has nothing to do with anything Tom or AlienView has said, I enjoy both posters very much.

Kevin, your statement is dead on target, I see this way too often, for many instances and not just for the sake of discussion here, but everywhere. When your example happens to us, Randy almost always finds it mildly amusing (he knows the research he's done) but never responds in a negative way. He feels since it is science fiction, everyone is entitled to an opinion. He figures to argue is pointless and would simply alienate a fan. Any sci-fi is always open to conjecture.

He does a lot of research before he writes anything, (NASA, appropriate websites, text books, etc.) and from the available info at the time he wrote, he had the most accurate details available but 99% of the time he doesn't get super technical; he writes for entertainment. Just enjoy the danged book / show / etc.

I think many times problems come for some people when they have been over time emotionally involved with a prior series like Star Trek, Bab 5, BSG etc. and in some minds, the way those shows / writers, portray something is reality, and how it must always be across the board but they forget those too, are sci-fi series.

Just enjoy! There's never been, and never will be, a sci-fi series, book, or movie, that can't be picked apart.

Thank you Verna for shedding some light - We thrive on Light!

I know from the past that you have a
dim view of the fictional
Borg from Star Trek - so do we.

But 'Boorg Industries Intergalactic' has nothing to do with the Borg from Trek.

Soon we will be
disclosing our presence on Earth to the Species Man
Not with any threats of forced assimillation - Rather it will be an offer that will be hard to refuse.

We will need Human agents who will be well compensated - Are you interested?

I agree with Verna, you cant have Science fiction, with out science fact. Research pays off big time. Folks in the know will look at any series or film with utmost skepticism, while others will watch em' with a A.D.D simplistic view. I noticed back in the 80's when the Wrath of Kahn film came out, they used NASA ideas and even some aviation knowledge to produce said film. Lets hear it for research for sci-fi films........Sci-Fi dude has spoken.... clapping-crowd-applause.gif Thank you, thank you!

Interested? Of course. In my universe "first contact" is my main responsibility. I welcome peaceful interaction with new life forms but be aware that in my time line of the early 1980's we follow our president's belief of "trust but verify." Trust, like respect, is earned, and that will take some time.

Please explain, Boorg Industries Intergalactic. How is Boorg different from Borg?

I have to be honest; unlike Picard, while there are inherent dangers, I find Q rather interesting and a tremendous opportunity to learn.

Thank you for your friendly response Verna - First and foremost you will find Boorg Intergalactic's main
interest is in making peaceful contact with other species, especially biological species - You might be
surprised to learn just how rare biological life is in the multiverse - Yes, life is common, but biological
life is quire rare - more about this later.

Gene Roddenberry, the originator of Star Trek and the Borg, was more than just a sceince fiction writer
- He was a profit, and other species that he created in the series actually exist - but not necessarily exactly like he envisioned them in the fictional Star Trek series. Borg in the Trek series were galactic travellers always depicted as evil, as they enforced the assimilation of all species they came into contact with so as to further their own totally sefl serving goals - none of which appeared to be to anyones but the Borgs advantage.

Boorg Industries Intergalactic, on the other hand, never force our will upon any species, be it biological
or what you would call AI, artificial intelligence - Actually there is no such thing as 'artificial intelligence'
- All life is a form of intelligence whether it be biological or otherwise.

The goal of Boorg Industries Intergalactic can be compared to the beginning words of the original
Star Trek;

"Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life and new civilizations. To boldly go where no man has gone before!"

Now, if you will replace the words 'To boldly go where no man has gone before!' with the words:
"To boldly go where no intelligence has gone before' and accept the existence of intelligent life forms
that are not biological such as Boorg Industries - You will begin to understand us.

We understand that Humans will find it hard to trust a species that existed many eons before Human
biological life and whose science makes Mans primitive - So we always begin with a soft touch contact
- the rest is up to you and the species Human.

Would you, could you, trust US?- Knowing we could still be like the evil Borg in Star Trek?

You don't have to - We could go away - But it will be thousands of years before your species
evolves into intergalactic travelers such as us. - We leave it up to you?

Like I said, we trust but verify. I have learned to never take anything at face value but I'm glad to hear you seek peaceful interaction. Perhaps the interaction would be mutually beneficial.

So, you're not biological life; you're a race like Mr. Data?

Hello again Verna,

Thanks for your continued interest in Boorg Intergalactic.

Data, an enhanced humanoid android, reflects a specifically Human type advanced intelligence
- an admirable projection, showing Human and 'Boorg like' potentials.

But the Boorg we are talking about comes from the fundamental 'Intelligence Matrix' backing all
existence.

Again a quote from the famous Human Noble Prize winning physicist Max Planck:

“All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particle of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together.
We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent mind. This mind is the matrix of all matter.”
Max Planck

We of Boorg Industries are a natural projection of this 'mind' - We occur as a natural manifestation
of the primal mind backing all existence.

Paradoxically Humans, all biological life for that matter, is not natural - Humans trying to justifly their
existence have often attributed it to 'a god' - Or, because your modern day science can not accept a god,
say it occurred accidentally because conditions were right??? - Of coures this is nonsense.

The biological experiment which led to your species was put
into play many eons ago by another race
of what you call Aliens - But it was not us, nor do we know at this time if that race of alien creators
still exist - If you agree to fly with us as we explore the Multiverse we will help you in your search
for your origins.

And what do we look like? - Picture us as you will - But we have mastered evolutionary adaptability
- We can appear as anyone or anything - Maybe even as the computer you are now using.

Agent,

You seem reasonable enough and many of the things you say I agree with, even though I come to many of the same conclusions as yourself but from a different perspective.

To this point I believe interaction with you could be mutually beneficial provided you are capable of accepting that we are a society/race/species with great individuality and freedoms. Self determination is essential and absolute.

If so, we would be agreeable to an initial season of détente as modeled by the U.S. and Russia in the 70's and go from there.

Since you are capable of appearing in any form, to start, I would be interested in seeing how you see yourself. Would it be possible for you to post your image?

Thank you Verna for your continued interest in Boorg Intergalactic.

Because of the above top secret nature of communication with Humans at this time I am not at
liberty to post my image - My status as Boorg agernt requires some degree of discretion.

But, I can post an approximate image of our great leader - The brains behind Boorg Intergalactic,
who for many years has been hiding in plane sight:

As you can see from our leaders intelligent features, bright eyes, and abiltiy to give the universal Vulcan greeting - You are among friends.

Well, that's a bit of a surprise. I was expecting something in line with the Borg known as Hugh, aka 3 of 5.

Since you are well traveled you must know, "The Big Giant Head."

Here's a photo of me speaking to him during his last visit to Earth. I think he bears a striking resemblance to Captain Kirk but then, James T. isn't a real person.

Of course Boorg Industries, having mastered transmutation, has agents all over the Human World:

Here is how our leader looks in Russia:

In The USA our leader has a close relationship With the Pres. - Here is a recent photo:

Dude said: "You met William Shatner? You never told us....."

I met him as both Kirk and Shatner on the same visit but the visit is classified. All I can tell you is this; for a few moments twice per year there is a place where reality and sci-fi overlap. In those moments, real people and fictional characters exist together on the same plane and both are fully aware of who and where they are. Real people can interact with their favorite fictional characters while fictional characters can experience reality; similar to Holly Would in Cool World.

Fictional characters from any media can even cross over from their story line / series, to that of another fictional character; like say Yoda visiting Mr. Spock or Q visiting Alien Soup. Of course, everyone must return to where they belong but it is fun when it happens.

There is a scientific explanation but I am forbidden to share it. To do so would cost me my own existence in both realms.

In my world to see a sci-fi hero, I would have to attend a convention, and to see them would cost me some clams. But its worth it , I have a new buddy who has seen not only star trek the original cast, but has met the STNG cast and has autographs as well, he has spent a bit on the fee's, but his pictures show him having a great time. And of course bragging rites.
