<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>Chapter 20~ Sydney..... Released?!?</span>
"Veara!!!!!" shouted Jack.
"I know you're not Sydney! Sydney would never ever do something like that!" he added.
Vaughn was in shock.
"That.... should.... have... been.... me....." said Vaughn, who was very angry and very shocked.
With a sudden boost of energy, he spin kicked Rambaldi and pinned him to the ground.
"Let Sydney go you monster! What has she ever done to you?!?" shouted Vaughn.
All of a sudden, the real Sydney was breaking through.
He could see her eyes change, hair change, everything!
"Vaughn? What are you doing on-"
She was interupted by Rambaldi.
Vaughn got off of her.
"That's it Sydney! Fight him! Don't let him win!" shouted Vaughn.
He could tell Sydney was struggling to regain control.
She was changing back and forth from Sydney to Rambaldi.
She dropped the device.
Vaughn grabbed it, and stepped back.
Then there was a victor. Sydney had broken through.
She was so tired, she fell to the ground.
Vaughn ran and caught her.
"...Give... me.... the..... device...." said Sydney, and she pointed to the device.
Vaughn listen.
".....Stand...... back...." she said.
Vaughn let go of her and le her stand up.
She aimed the device at herself.
"Sydney! What are you doing?!?" asked Jack.
Then, all of a sudden, Rambaldi was coming back.
"Oh no! Sydney!" shouted Vaughn.
Sydney was fighting Rambaldi for control.
"I've wait 20 years for this!" shouted Sydney.
She fired the device as soon as she could.
There was another bright light, like the one that they saw before Veara had disappeared.
"Sydney!" shouted Vaughn.
They all became really light headed. They felt like they were in a dream.
Soon after, they all woke up, and there was no sign of Rambaldi.
"It took me 15 years to collect all the artifacts and assemble the device. Now, that son of a b**** is finally gone. He won't be bugging me anymore. I've wanted him out since that day about 20 years ago, but I wasn't strong enough....." said Sydney.
Vaughn walked up to her. She was laying on the ground, extremely weak.
He picked her up in his arms and held her.
Soon, her world was black.
She woke up in a hospital bed, with green eyes staring right at her.
".....Is it over?" she asked.
"Yep..... it's all over" replied Vaughn.
"Finally. You don't know how long I've waited for this day to come. The day I was free from his control" said Sydney.
"I think I do" replied Vaughn.
"What do you mean?" asked Sydney.
Vaughn bent over and kissed her on the forehead.
"Get some rest" he said.
Then, he left the room.
Sydney had a million quesions. Maybe more. All she could remember is fighting Rambaldi, and then a bright flash of light. That's all she could remember.
"Where is Veara? Where am I? Where was I? What did I do? How did this happen? Why am I here? Is he really gone? Can I finally live a normal life? What about my baby? What about Vaughn? Oh wait, I just saw him.... nevermind. Will I be okay? Am I alive? Is this a dream? Am I in heaven? Or am I in hell? Will I ever stop asking so many questions and get on with the story? (lol)" she thought.
Just then, Vaughn walked back into the room.
"Vaughn! Where is Veara?!? Where am I?!? Why am I here?!? What did I do?!? How did this happen?!? Is-"
"Woah, woah! Slow down! One at a time!" he interupted.
"Sorry. Where am I?" she asked.
"You're in a C.I.A hospital, back in L.A" he replied.
"What happened?" she asked.
"You were fighting for control over Rambaldi, and you fired the device at you're self. It got rid of him" explained Vaughn.
"Is this a dream? Am I dead?" she asked.
He chuckled.
"No and no. This is very real. You are alive and well. We thought you were dead at first though. After we saw what that device did to Veara, we thought you were a dead for sure" explained Vaughn.
"....Veara..... what happened to her? What did I do?" asked Sydney.
She didn't know why she asked this question, becasue deep down inside, she already knew the answer. She just didn't want to believe it.
"Um.... Sydney.... she's dead. Rambaldi killed her. He fired the device and-"
"What?!? No! She could've- Why did he?!? She can't be- why?!? There is no- I'm dreaming! Wake me up!" she shouted.
"Sydney...." said Vaughn.
Sydney had tears in her eyes.
Her best friend was dead, because of her. Because of Rambaldi.
She started sobbing, and she jumped out of bed, and ran to the door. Luckily, it was locked.
Vaughn jumped up and grabbed Sydney.
"Let me go! Veara is still alive! I have to help her!" shouted Sydney.
"Sydney she's dead! I watched her die! She's gone! Good bye! Never coming back! She's checked out! Cut off! Washed up! Decea-"
Sydney slapped him in the face.
"Get away from me right now. Don't touch me" she said in her deep, cold, don't you dare say that voice.
Vaughn let her go.
"Sydney I'm sorry.... I got a little to carried away. It's just.... she's dead! I know how you feel! Veara and I formed a close friendship while you were gone. We-"
"Yeah, but were you friends with her for you're whole life?!? Was she like a sister to you?!? Did she look out for you?!? Except you when the other kids would call you a freak?!? Did she?!? DID SHE?!?" asked Sydney.
Vaughn shut up.
"That's what I thought" she said.
He grabbed Sydney again.
"What are you doing?!? Did you not hear me?!? Let me go! Let me go! Let me..." Sydney didn't finish.
"Just calm down! I know you're upset! I am too! But there is nothing we can do. If you want, we will send a team back to Mexico to search for her, but you need to stay here and rest. You need to-"

After a few minutes, they both got up off the ground.
"I'm sorry" said Sydney.
"For what?" asked Vaughn.
"For getting upset. For hitting you" she replied.
"That was my fault. I'm sorry" he said.
"No, it was my fault" she said.
"It was both of out faults okay?" asked Vaughn.
"Sure" replied Sydney.
"Are you okay? You were hurt pretty bad" asked Vaughn.
"Yeah. I'm fine. When can I leave?" asked Sydney.
"Well, whenever I guess. You're dad wants to talk to you first though" replied Vaughn.
"Good. There are alot of things that need explaining. I'll go now" said Sydney.
"Okay" replied Vaughn.
JACK BRISTOW'S OFFICE
Sydney knocked on the door three times.
"Come in!" he shouted.
Sydney walked in.
"Sydney..... I wasn't prepared to see you.... they said you should be out for atleast 3 days....." said Jack.
"Well, I'm a little injured, and a little tired. Besides that, I'm fine" replied Sydney.
"Good" said Jack.
There was a moment of silence.
"So..... um..... you wanted to see me?" asked Sydney.
"Yeah.... uh.... I wanted to talk to you....." replied Jack.
"Okay" said Sydney.
MICHAEL VAUGHN'S OFFICE
Vaughn was at his desk, thinking about Sydney.
"I'm so glad she's okay" he thought.
His thoughts were interupted by Eric Weiss banging on the door.
Vaughn sighed.
"What do you want Eric? Make it quick. It was peaceful in here for once" said Jack.
"I heard you're going to be a daddy!" said Weiss.
Vaughn gasped, and almost fell off his chair.
"Who told you that?!? How many people know?!?" asked Vaughn.
"Well, the doctors told me when they examined Sydney. Let's see...... four people, including me" replied Weiss.
"I don't want anyone knowing" said Vaughn.
"Fine. I won't tell" replied Weiss.
"Now, if that's all, could you please leave?" asked Vaughn.
"Fine" replied Weiss.
He left.
SYDNEY
Sydney just left Jack's office, to see Vaughn waiting for her.

Vaughn couldn't be happier.

Weiss finally got a girlfriend.

Well, Sydney wasn't really the one doing all the bad things. It was Rambaldi. So they let her go because it wasn't her fault.Sarahmañana said:
