well, i hate to be the voice of dissent here, but i think if it's too hard for people to go between the random area and member lounge, the easier solution would probably be to turn off post counts for the ENTIRE member lounge (including both sub-forums) rather than turn the post count on for the random area. i know that's sort of extreme but it can't be THAT difficult to click on another link to get to the random forum. and what some of you said is true - sometimes it can be difficult distinguishing between some of the member lounge threads and random threads; some member lounge threads can be pretty random and some random threads can have plenty of substantial posts.
okay, i don't know if that last paragraph made much sense, so let me try to clarify a bit more. yes, alias is done with for the summer and we talk about SOOO many other fairly important things (politics, schools, relationships, etc) but when it's all said and done, this is all
alias and it's primarily an alias site.
and i can understand the logic behind having posts not count in threads that are random (where the posts are a lot more conversational - as in people saying "hi" and "bye" a lot, or only posting one word responses).
also, does it REALLY matter what your post count is? yes, i'll admit it's pretty fun and i get a little kick out of moving up the ranks, but that's not my primary motivation for posting. i post when i have something to say (although i'll admit to being guilty of getting random every now and then
)
anyway, that was my little (or not so little) shpiel. sorry if that was a bit rambly. i'm tired. and i hope too many people aren't cross with me.
oh, and the off topic games & quizzes is fine as it is. that forum is as random as you can get.
