“Jess, can I come in?” Vaughn knocked softly on her door.

“What’s the point dad?” Jessica asked as he opened the door.

“Jess, it’s not as simple as you think it is” Vaughn told her.

“You know what dad, that excuse doesn’t work anymore, I’m old enough that if you just explained the damned thing to me that I would understand. But instead you and mom just hide behind this wall saying ‘oh Jessica, we tried to make it work but we couldn’t’ and quite frankly I’m so damned sick of it! I just want to know what made you two stop loving each other” Jessica told him sadly. “or did you even stop loving each other?”

“Jessica, your mom and I still love each other…” Vaughn started.
