League of Legends

General Information
League of Legends is a MOBA (Massive Online Battle Arena) based on the same type of game play as DotA. The game was released on the 27th of October in 2009. The game is played in a 5v5 or 3v3 team environment. It can be played against with and against other players or the computer, mostly other players however.

Every player will get to choose a champion that they want to play. These champions have individual mechanics and abilities that the player can utilize to play the game.

How-To-Play
At the start of the game, after having selected your champion and having been loaded into the game, you will go to the lane which you called out, with the role you're filling. Then the fighting begins. Throughout the game your base will spawn NPC's or creeps as they're called in LoL. These creeps have one purpose; fight their way to the enemy "nexus" (base) and destroy it.

When a player kills one of these creeps they are awarded gold and experience. The amount of gold you receive vary on what type of creep it is. (Note: Standing in close proximity of creeps that die, will still yield experience however you won't receive any gold unless you're the one that deals the killing blow/lasthit.)

The objective is simple.. Farm creeps, kill the enemy turrets, champions and base to win the game.

Roles
There are five roles in league of legends. These roles all have separate "tasks" that they will perform.

AD Carry
The AD Carry is a champion with strong attack damage (AD) potential. They're more often than not a ranged champion that benefit greatly not only from using their abilities but by auto attacking their targets. The AD Carry is often quite squishy and rely on mobility and their team to be the front-line as they stand in the back, trying to take out high priority targets.

Support
The support is probably one of the hardest roles. Not because the mechanics is harder than other champions but because they usually have to take a lot of punishment if the team dies. During the early stages of the game the support will be on the bot-lane with the team's AD Carry, providing assistance. They don't take CS (Creep Kills) and try to harass the enemy team, preventing their ADC (AD Carry) from taking any CS. They're also meant to ward (put down items that will grant vision within a certain radius for a period of time.)
