Earth may be headed into a mini Ice Age within a decade

The announcement made on 14 June (18:00 UK time) comes from scientists at the US National Solar Observatory (NSO) and US Air Force Research Laboratory. Three different analyses of the Sun's recent behaviour all indicate that a period of unusually low solar activity may be about to begin.

We could all move to Venus or Mercury, I hear they're pleasant at this time of the year. :D

But seriously scientists sometimes come out with these crazy ideas that make people worry and then in the end the ideas turn out to be nothing important or all nothing at all.

Well, in a year I'm hoping on moving to an area that is 45c in the summer. Even wiping 30c off that, it'd still be T-shirt weather for me bearing in mind where I live right now!

I wonder whose PhD's are wrapped up in this theory though, that's where most of the 'stories' we see come from.
