I listen to a lot of music... a lot of music... and if I was to hear 20 songs on the radio I could likely recall a point in my life for each song. Off the top of my head though there are a few that I can think of.There must be pieces of songs that you sing a little louder, smile a little wider to? Or maybe the excerpt almost brings you to tears?
I will listen to almost any song by Bobby Vinton if I hear it. Not because I care for his music but because my Mom loved him, "The Polish Prince". As soon as I hear any of his music I think back to my Mom and her love of music.
The Tiffany cover of I Think We're Alone Now. No matter what I may be doing hearing just a few notes of that song takes me back to high school and spending time with somebody that, at the time, meant the world to me.
I think we're alone now
There doesn't seem to be anyone around
I think we're alone now
The beating of our hearts is the only sound
There doesn't seem to be anyone around
I think we're alone now
The beating of our hearts is the only sound
Better Days by The Goo Goo Dolls. Mrs. Kevin is a huge GGD fan and we've been to several of their concerts, sometimes traveling for mini-getaways to someplace new. There are a few GGD songs I actually like, Better Days in particular, but any GGD song always makes me think of Mrs. Kevin, especially while we were dating and the early years of our marriage.
And you ask me what I want this year
And I try to make this kind and clear
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days
Cause I don't need boxes wrapped in strings
And designer love and empty things
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days
And I try to make this kind and clear
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days
Cause I don't need boxes wrapped in strings
And designer love and empty things
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days
In the morning when I do my 20~ mile drive to work I'll have the radio blasting and there'll be songs that take me back to other points. If any in particular stand out I'll update my response.
