On the new boards, members now have some moderation options for THEIR topics only. Charlie will probably edit this to add things, remove things, etc; I just started this topic because Charlie isn't here and I think its an important subject and the restrictions, etc should be discussed. You may now close topics. You should not however close a topic for any reason. Topics should ONLY be closed if you feel the thread is getting out of hand, or there is a similar thread somewhere else. Ex: If you open a topic asking what the member titles were and someone gives you the link to the thread started by Charlie talking about the member titles, it is then acceptable to close that topic. You should not close a topic because you render it dead or useless...you never know, someone may suddenly get interested in it and it may become a popular thread. You also have the option to delete topics. All of what I said in the latter is the basic rule of thumb that moderators follow....this is how closing topics will be also. I can not ever remember deleting a topic except in the section that KD agents meet because they had to do with the old AAPZ and may have caused some confusion. Deleting topics is very serious because we cannot bring them back. You should contact a moderator about deleting a topic before you do so. I don't think you have the option to pin or move topics, so if you would like that done to your topic, contact an admin or mod. Also, please note, do not abuse the new moderation options because they may be taken away if it gets out of hand!!
