Mia in "The Summit"

"The Summit" (2008) on Canada's Canwest Global TV
9:00 PM Sunday, May 30. 2010

Mia Maestro stars in in this Canadian-made Eco-Political miniseries.

Mia plays a Columbian activist mother who is trying to reveal to the world via the "G8 Summit" that poor Columbians are being taken advantage of by rich corporations. Workers are exposed to harmful chemicals on commerical rose-growing operations and used as guinea pigs to unproven vaccines. When a group of test subjects get incurably diseased, they are killed and disposed of. Mia gets a hold of a vial of contaminated blood/bad Vaccine and seeks to reveal it to the G8 Summit being held in Canada. The evil corporate types claim that Mia intends to release the deadly contents at the Summitt in an act of terrorism, so she is now a hunted woman. Because she was a former FARC rebel in her youth, it seems plausable.
