That's the thing, the companies keep talking about Next-Gen this and that, and how the new system is going to blow everything out of the water, but in reality for at least the first year or so, most systems seem to struggle as they build a library, they may get a couple of stellar titles, but with the runaway prices of consoles, most people have a hard time justifying the purchase price for one, maybe, two games. This is especially true for those wee gamers who have the unenviable task of convincing mom and dad that you've been good enough to earn a $600 video game system at Christmas.
Part of the problem stems from the fact that they're trying just way too hard.
Do you remember back in the day when a game console had one singular purpose? You know, to play games? Now they're trying to create entire multimedia systems in one unit. I'm all for innovation in technology, but if I wanted to play DVD's, I would use a DVD player, not my PS2.
btw, gg Sony for using the P$3 to try an cram Blu-Ray down everyones throat.
