    Name Meanings

    Characters:
Sydney - Form of Sidney, which means wide island
Michael - named after the most powerful angel (sometimes showen with
a sword). This makes sense - “My Guardian Angel”. Michael can also
mean somone who is like God.
Arvin - means “People’s friend”. LOL!
Emily - old Roma/Latin name. Form of Emil, which means that are part
    of the royal Roman family
Jack - nickname for John, which means gracious gift of God. Jack also
has ties to the name Jacques, which can bean Jacob/James, who is the
    brother of Jesus
Francie - A French name, which seems odd. Also, the short name
“Fran”, which is a male name (?), which is a form of Francis, which
    means free.
Will - Short for William, meaning helmet of resolution
Noah - you know, Noah’s ark. It also means rest and comfort.
Dixon - son of Dick, which is a nickname for Richard
    Weiss - German for white
Eric - Rich, brave. Seems scandiavian
Marshall - a general in war

    Actors:
Jennifer - Cornish form of Guinevere
Carl - related to Charlie/Charles, which means strong and manly. Carl
also means “man” in old German
Michael - named after the most powerful angel (sometimes showen with
a sword). Michael can also mean somone who is like God! Again, makes
    sense!
Ron - Form of Ronald, which is a form of Reginald, which means strong
    ruler.
    Bradley - broad clearing
    Victor - conqueror

    Guest Stars:
Peter (Berg)- name Jesus gave to one of his disciples, means a rock
David (Anders)- beloved (this is true for many fans of Alias)

    Episodes:
Doppelgänger - a ghostly counterpart of a living person
Mea Culpa - means "my fault" in latin

Used as part of the Catholic Mass until Vatican II:

People would beat their breast and say "Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa."

"My fault, my fault, my own grevious fault."

yeah, after the Vatican II Council, they changed it so that it's part of the Penitential Rite. today, the striking of the breast occurs w/ the words "...in my thoughts and my words, in what i have done, and what i have failed to do..."
