Hubble Views Edge of Stellar Blast

This Hubble Space Telescope image depicts a small section of the Cygnus supernova blast wave, the result of the "death" of a star 20 times more massive than our Sun 10,000 to 20,000 years ago. Light from this supernova takes around 2,400 years to reach Earth. (More at NASA Picture of The Day)

Hubble Stows a Pocketful of Stars

Globular cluster NGC 1805, a tight grouping of thousands of stars is, located near the edge of the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of our own Milky Way. In the dense center of one of these clusters, stars are 100 to 1,000 times closer together than the nearest stars are to our Sun. (More at NASA Picture of The Day)
 
Frank Rubio: From Pilot to Doctor to Astronaut
