GSA Auctions, the US Government web site for offering surplus inventory to the public, has announced that they are preparing to handle items related to the NASA Space Shuttle program now that it has been officially shutdown.

GSA Auctions said:
Attention GSA Auctions bidders and interested participants. NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) Space Shuttle Program has retired and NASA has partnered with GSA Auctions to sell the many shuttle related items through a series of auctions in 2012. All who are interested in participating in these sales and other sales of export controlled items are advised that they MUST be U.S. Citizens, any agents working on their behalf (removal after award) must also provide proof of citizenship, and removals must be scheduled at least 48 hours (normal duty days) in advance of pick-up with the NASA point of contact. Details will be included in the description portion of the items posted for sale and proof must be provided in advance of removing property. We look forward to doing business with you in the year 2012.

Keep an eye open at GSA Auctions®, General Services Administration, Government Site for Auctions to be on the lookout for items as they become available. (y)
