NCAA Basketball 2005-2006

My favorite time of year is here! College Basketball time! I seriously live for college basketball, it doesn't get much better than that.

So, who are you guys pulling for?

I'm all about the Duke Blue Devils :D They are my boys, and they're the pre-season number 1! They better go all the way this year ^_^

Marquette University! Both men and women.

I'm also in pep band, so I go to almost all of the home games.

My only hope is that they don't become the laughingstocks of the Big East.

College Basketball is my favorite time of year too!! I can't wait for March!!!!!

I am definitely rooting for Duke. (I love my boys!) I want to see them go all the way~ its JJ's senior year- he deserves it! Oh and theyre still undefeated... 13-0! :D

I  your avatar. Oh JJ

Marquette just KILLED no. 2 UConn! By 15 points!

Steve Novak scored 41 pts, 16 rebounds (and 2 assists).

And we're not even ranked.

^i agree 100%

How bout that game with the heels? That was too close for comfort. JJ really is REDICKulous. haha. I went to the game at VT. I got Coach K, Johnny Dawkins, Sean Dockery, Jason Williams, Greg Paulus, and other's autographs it was so sweet! I stayed after and waited by the bus. But JJ was escorted out with like 6 security guards so I couldn't get his autograph : (. Oh well I'm so happy. They definately gotta step it up though. Dockery and Melcheaony both have to step up with the three point shot

It was certainly way too close for comfort. I'm all about exciting games...as long as Duke isn't in the equation. I'd much rather their games be a blowout...those are easier on my nerves.

That's awesome about all the autographs! They're really cool about all of that. I went to a game at Cameron last year and they were so friendly and awesome to all the fans. It was perfection! ^_^

:jawdrop: you went to a home game at cameron  omg I am so jealous. I was only there once about two summers ago when I had softball nationals down in Raliegh. No one was in there but i just walked around on the court and lying at half court. It was great but I would looooooovvee to go to a home game

lol

I got tickets as on of my Christmas presents last year. It was absolutely incredible, I'd seen them in the ACC tournament at Greensboro and Charlotte for like 4 years and at Wake Forest, but they didn't compare to Cameron. I got to sit with the Crazies and everything...and let me tell ya they definitely are crazy  My dad and I had an absolute blast. We were even on TV a couple times, which was really cool!

It was one of the most awesome experiences of my life. I reccomend all fans to go if they can...it can get quite expensive though -_- But certainly worth it (y)

On another note, Duke beat Maryland today which was very happy. I particularly dislike Maryland. We're 23-1 overall and 11-0 in ACC play :D I just love those guys!

JJ Reddick could NOT be any sexier... He is way too good looking. Doesn't hurt that he's an amazing player, either.

Marquette beat no. 17 ranked Georgetown tonight! It's about time we beat a ranked team again. And on ESPN! The game was so exciting - my friend almost burst my eardrum screaming and there were points when we'd be playing the fight song and the crowd was drowning us out.

Also, one of our freshman got named Big East Rookie of the Week - for the 4th time. If he doesn't get rookie of the year for our conference, there is something seriously wrong.

does anyone know the name of the song or who sings the song they play for the Conference tournament, they did it for the NFL too. it goes something like this: "100 percent reasons to remember the name"

Brackets just came out! There are some really, really good first round games. Like Arizona v. Wisconsin. And Kentucky v. UAB. I can't wait until Thursday.

Go Heels! Time to defend our Championship!!!

I'm so excited about March Madness!

I was able to go to the ACC Tournament Championship game and it was absolutely amazing. I love my Blue Devils.

I was actually supposed to go to the first two rounds of the tournament in Greensboro with my dad, but he was admitted to the hospital Sunday night (he's doing much better now) so those plans kind of fell through. It's alright though, you see more on tv anyways.

GO DUKE!

Glad he's doing better. (y)

There were some great games yesterday, with certainly more to come today. The first two days of the NCAA Tournament is always the best basketball you'll see all year. And there were some surprises. Indiana, LSU, Boston College, George Washington, Tennessee and Gonzaga just survived. In fact, Tennessee, G.W. and Boston College probably should have all lost. Tennessee is certainly no #2 seed. I was really surprised with Marquette losing. They were a few of the "experts" sleeper pick to go to the Regional Final & possibly the Final Four. I didn't think they were that good, but certainly I thought they would beat Alabama. Seton Hall shouldn't have even been invited and it really looked like they didn't even show up. And what happened to Syracuse? McNamara couldn't throw it in the ocean. I thought they just looked tired. Like there wasn't much left in the tank after their emotional Big East Tournament Championship. Like I said, the first Thursday & Friday of the NCAA Tournament is some of the best basketball you'll see all year.

He's doing much better and will probably be released today

There have been some great games! Games that have really screwed up my bracket, but oh well. I don't mind having a crappy bracket with the kind of upsets we've seen. It seemed like many of the teams who had trouble in their games were teams who had been complaining of their seeding. Gonzaga wasn't happy about being a 3 seed, George Washington wasn't happy about being an 8 seed, and Boston College wasn't happy about being a 4 seed. All of them had major issues in their games, and I was rooting against all of them :angelic: I was really hoping to see UNC-W win, I have a lot of friends who go there and I almost went there, but they threw it away in the second over time. I was hoping to see BC lose, because I'm not a fan of their attitudes and the type of game they play, they got a little dirty in the ACC championship. And even though I have Gonzaga making it pretty far I was hoping they'd go down too. I thought that Air Force had a very respectable showing against Illinois, especially when practically everyone in the country was saying that they didn't belong there. I'm very happy that Duke pulled it out. I must admit I was kinda worried, it was a rather painful game to watch, because neither team looked at good at all (well except for JJ Redick and Sheldon Williams). Can't wait for the games today, I'm positive we haven't seen the last of the big upsets!

Hooray for DUKE making it to the Sweet 16 for the 9th straight year!! :D And as an added bonus Carolina will have to watch the game from home  I'm so happy that they're out of it, sure shut a lot of my friends up ;)
