TV New On TV For Fall 2012

Beauty and the Beast, the CW Network.

I've found out that the CW Network has a re-imagined version of Beauty and the Beast, the 1980s cult-favorite CBS series of the same name.

Lo & I used to talk about the gimmick of the lion-like Vincent reciting sensitive poetry to Catherine one minute, and the next minute tearing some bad guy to shreds for hurting her. :clapping:

While Catherine was a savvy assistant District attorney in New York City and Vincent was a a lion-like man who lived in a secret underground society led by the patriarch known as "Father" on the CBS version, on the CW version, Catherine is a homicide detective and Vincent is a man who turns into a beast-man when he becomes enraged (not unlike 'The Hulk").

From Wikipedia:
The project is described as "a modern-day romantic love story with a procedural twist." The show is the first project that new president Mark Pedowitz developed when he joined the network.

The network ordered a pilot of the series in January 2012. The pilot of the show was filmed in Canada from March 22 to April 2, 2012. It was picked up by The CW on May 11, 2012, and is scheduled to premiere this fall during the 2012–13 television season.

Kristin Kreuk was cast as the lead role of Catherine Chandler (Beauty) on February 16, 2012, and Jay Ryan was cast in the role of Vincent Koslow (Beast) on March 2, 2012.

I'll watch the first few shows for Kristin Kreuk's sake, and see if the plot can hold me. If the show is a dog, it'll disappear fast.

On the other hand, the CW has had success with their odd concept supernatural TV series.

Arrow (2012 CW Network TV Series)

This is the CW's re-imagination of the Green Arrow character, who was a crime fighting archer in the TV series, Smallville.

Oliver Queen/Green Arrow is now played by Stephen Amell. Presumably plotlines and relationships such as Chloe from Smallville are discarded.

from Wikipedia:
Main cast

Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Arrow
Colin Donnell as Tommy Merlyn
Katie Cassidy as Dinah "Laurel" Lance
David Ramsey as John Diggle
Willa Holland as Thea Queen
Jamey Sheridan as Robert Queen
Susanna Thompson as Moira Queen
Paul Blackthorne as Detective Quentin Lance

Recurring cast
Colin Salmon as Walter Steele
Darren Shahlavi as Constantine Drakon
Jacqueline MacInnes Wood as Sarah Lance

Justin Hartley, who played the Oliver Queen/Green Arrow in Smallville has a costarring role new fall TV series, Emily Owens, M.D.

From wikipedia

Emily Owens, M.D. (formerly titled First Cut) is an upcoming American medical drama television series created by Jennie Snyder Urman. It was picked up by The CW on May 11, 2012, and is scheduled to premiere this fall on Tuesdays 9:00/8:00c after Hart of Dixie.

The series follows the life of Emily Owens (Mamie Gummer), who is a first-year intern at Denver Memorial Hospital, where she realizes that her med-school crush Will Rider (Justin Hartley) and her high school nemesis Cassandra Kopelson (Aja Naomi King) also work. Emily is not only the new kid once again, but real life is also just as awkward as high school.

I guess the CW is trying to create their version of Grey's Anatomy.

Mamie Gummer as Emily Owens
Justin Hartley as Will Collins
Aja Naomi King as Cassandra Kopelson
Kelly McCreary as Tyra Granger
Michael Rady as Micah Ellis
Necar Zadegan as Gina Beckett

I only recognize Justin Hartley.

To have another Doctor Series right after Hart of Dixie may or may not work. It depends on how people will react to Mamie Gummer - she is a daughter of the acclaimed actress Meryl Streep. Will the mother's talent be seen in the daughter?

666 Park Avenue - Terry O'Quinn's Fall 2012 TV series!
http://www.buzzsugar.com/666-Park-Avenue-P...Review-23714031
666 Park Avenue is one of ABC's most riveting freshman series, and we got a sneak peek of the pilot, which debuts in the Fall. The Manhattan-based mystery stars Lost's Terry O'Quinn and Vanessa Williams as devious apartment building owners, and Brothers & Sisters' Dave Annable and Rachael Taylor play the unwitting couple who become the building's newest targets.

What it's about: Jane (Taylor) and Henry (Annable) are the new caretakers of the Drake, a historic apartment building on New York's Upper East Side. The seemingly perfect gig comes with an amazing apartment of their own, but the setup may not be as wonderful as it appears. The Drake isn't merely old, creaky, and creepy — the building's residents are struggling with issues of the evil, supernatural variety.

Where it works: There's no shortage of dramatic and creepy sequences (secret rooms! Murderous elevators! Petty thieves!) in the pilot, and with all the number of plot points introduced, they have plenty of material to work with throughout the series. O'Quinn and Williams have proven themselves to be prime-time superstars, but they play particularly well off each other as the building's devious owners.

Where it doesn't: Aside from Jane, Henry, and the owners, the pilot introduces a lot of characters, and it can be a little confusing about who is who, which people live in the building, and what their issues are. I'm hoping that as the series goes on, it will get a little less scattered.

When it's on: Sundays at 10 p.m.

You might like this show if: American Horror Story is too graphic for you.

From IMDB:
If you could make one wish, what would it be? And what would you do to get it? At 666 Park Avenue, all of your dreams and burning desires can come true: wealth, sex, love, power, even revenge. But just be careful what you wish for, because the price you pay... could be your soul.

Welcome to The Drake, the premiere apartment building on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Owned by the mysterious Gavin Doran (Terry O'Quinn - Lost) and his sexy wife Olivia (Vanessa Williams - Desperate Housewives), The Drake is home to dozens of residents who are unaware they're living in the dark embrace of supernatural forces. They think their dreams are all coming true, only to find they've been lured into making, what feels like, a deal with the Devil.

When a young Mid-western couple - Jane Van Veen (Rachael Taylor - Charlie's Angels, Grey's Anatomy) and Henry Martin (Dave Annable - Brothers & Sisters) - is hired to manage The Drake, they soon discover that evil, obsession, and manipulation has a home.

Allow yourself to be seduced by 666 PARK AVENUE, and unravel the mysteries of this devilish new drama from Alloy Entertainment (Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars) and executive producers David Wilcox (Fringe, Life on Mars), Leslie Morgenstein (Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries) and Gina Girolamo (The Secret Circle, The Lying Game).

Good for Terry. I hope he does well.
