Ooops, Jen locked out of her car!

The entertainment news programs and celebrity gossip websites report that Jennifer got locked out of her car after putting Violet into the back of the car in her carseat.

There are differing reports as to how it happened.

Jennifer Garner had a mommy's moment of panic while out shopping yesterday in Brentwood with her daughter Violet, 2 and a half. Violet got into the family Lexus while clutching the key, locking herself inside. Garner was able to tell her daughter how to open the door, and she finally managed to do it after about two minutes. There were enough photographers there to help if it came to that, but it's still got to be stressful to get locked out of your car by your two year old.

Aw! This is one of those parenting moments that's both hilarious and terrifying all at once. Jennifer was out shopping with her two-year old Violet when little Vi decided it would be hilarious to lock mommy out of the car. Jen was able to talk Violet through the process of unlocking the door and got the door open without too much trouble, but I bet that was heart-stopping for a minute. On another note, whoever took this picture, instead of going over and offering to help, needs a stern talking to.

Oops! Jennifer Garner locks her keys in the car... along with her two-year-old daughter

A mother daughter bonding day went awry for Hollywood star Jennifer Garner after she locked her car keys in her Lexus, along with her two-year-old daughter Violet.

The actress was sent into a quite panic after piling the toddler into the back seat without realising she was clutching the only key.

But thankfully Violet proved rather obedient, and was freed from the vehicle after a few patient instructions about how to unlock the door from her mother.

With the crisis averted, the pair happily carried on their shopping day with a visit to Brentwood Country Mart in California.

I've never been trapped inside a car (as a kid or otherwise) and luckily the temperatures here (in Minnesota) don't often get too hot. But even without the heat, it would be terrifying.

That has happened to me and it was not fun. I had to wait 5 hours for the tow truck to show up and my car was running the whole time.
