I have to say that Predators is hands down one of the best action-based-sci-fi movies I've ever seen, even better than the Matrix. Now, I know that may be a bold statement to some, but Predators works on many levels to entertain the viewer, while the Matrix left many confused. Matrix is a classic, but Predators takes the action-based-sci-fi award for me.

Just to be clear here... are we talking about Predators the sequel or the original Predator?

Alright, we may be have a generational disagreement here then. :P

Assuming you've seen the original as well, what do you feel elevates the sequel to be better?

Ok, first off, the original is a classic, an action masterpiece. But the sequel was able to weave a social critique (our dog-eat-dog culture), badass action, and a science fiction backdrop, altogether in perfect harmony. On top of that the sequel was able to give its characters some emotional depth, resulting in the hero's change of heart at the end. It was quite a ride.
