I watched them both and wasn't very impressed. Maybe 50% rating at best.
It all felt really rushed with little actual payoff.
Use a lot of popcorn....

I'm looking forward to this one for the sole fact that this was originally pitched by Snyder to the original Lucasfilm as a Star Wars film. Curiosity is getting the best of me.

I went back and watched the Director's Cut of both Parts 1 & 2 back-to-back to get the full "This is what Zach Snyder envisioned!" experience and I have to go with @Tom's assessment, not very impressed. It's a big story, and if Part 3 gets made with the search for the Princess, it might pick up steam among sci-fi fans, but "Rebel Moon" is not a verse that I'd seek out to watch again.

The only lasting impression that I really took away from watching them back-to-back was that it felt a lot like it'd make for a story in the Chronicles of Riddick verse or even as a Warhammer 40K movie.

In regards to it being originally pitched as a Star Wars project, it's easy to see why it was rejected: Rebel Moon is yet another version of Seven Samurai and Kurosawa was already a well known inspiration for Lucas in the SW verse, there is no need for a straight-forward adaption.

Visually, though, it's at least nice to look at it. If you ever wanted a sci-fi version of Seven Samurai that had a really big budget and wonder what Battle Beyond the Stars could've been, then Rebel Moon is for you.

Warhammer 40K movie
I actually read some news that stated one is in production.
I still play those games on my pc thru steam.
Yeah, they're dated and I've mastered them all long ago but I really like the interface and there is a lot of fanfic to read on the WH40k Universe.
