SCI FI Asks What If?

    SCI FI Channel announced that it is developing What If, a "speculative future" series that poses intriguing scenarios of alternate realities.

    i'm not too sure a program like this merits being on the scifi channel. this is the sort of programming needed on normal terrestrial channels to spread the word of scifi and sci-fact. it will make new convertes who would then come to the scifi channel or similar networks for their programming!

    this sort of programming tends to be too narrow minded in that the writers, producers and directors end up putting the emphasis on certain aspects of the storylines that not everyone agrees with, or even sometimes the less plausible events that have greater screen prescense.

    what i would be interested in seing is a slightly different format, where the writers/consultants are scifi authors, well known or just published it doesn't matter as long as we get the hard core scifi treatment that is accurate, believable and leaves the viewer reeling and waiting for the next show.
