Movie information in first post provided by The Movie Database
So this is a movie that is yet to be released that I found while browsing around on IMDB and it immediately caught my attention. Mostly because it reminded me of both another similar movie as well as I recalled the books by Joseph Delaney.

The other movie I mean is The Seeker: The Dark is Rising.

So anyway, so far they've released a trailer as well as a list of actors.Seventh Son.

So what are your thoughts? Have you read the books by Joseph Delaney and do you think they'll succeed in really bringing the books to life?

I'm actually looking forward to it, seeing how well they've accomplished it.

My daughter has read all the books, so I know this is something she's looking forward to seeing. It'll be interesting to see whether they do it well or butcher it.

Sadly It's probably leaning towards the movie being butchered but the fact that they have actors like Jeff Bridges turns it into a must watch. All you can really do is hope for a sensible producer.

Yeah, Hollywood doesn't often get book to film conversions right. I do like Jeff Bridges though, so I'll be watching it.

Young Thomas is apprenticed to the local Spook to learn to fight evil spirits. His first great challenge comes when the powerful Mother Malkin escapes her confinement while the Spook is away.

Seventh Son (2015)

Rated PG-13 for intense fantasy violence and action throughout, frightening images and brief strong language

This looks good!

Pretty disappointed with this movie. Bridges slurs his words so bad you can barely understand him and the movie fell flat for me. There were some good creature designs but there just wasn't enough screen time to fully appreciate them. I felt really let down.
I might watch it again but I'm in no hurry.
