Set you heart at rest.
The fairy land buys not the child of me.
His mother was a votress of my order.
And in the spiced indian air by night,
full often hath she gossiped by my side
and sat with me on the neptune's yellow sands
marking the'embarked traders on the flood
when we laughed to see the sails conceive
and grow big-bellied in the wanton wind
which she, with pretty and with swimming gait
following (her womb then rich with my young squire),
would imitate the sails upon the land
to fetch me trifles and return again
as from a voyage, rich with merchandies
but she, being mortal of that boy did die,
and for her sake do i rear up her boy;
and for her sake i will not part with him

PHEWW! i have to memorize that and i know i don't like shakespear that much but i like that Titania speech!
Nance! -hugz- That's fantastic! ^_^

hehe thanks!!! lol i have to recite it this friday!!! ahhh hope i don't screw up!

I'm writing something tomorrow! Correct me if I'm wrong--

All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players
They have their exits and their entrances
And one man in his time plays many parts
His acts being seven ages. At first the infant
Mewling and puking in the nurse's arms.
And then the whining school-boy, with his satchel
And shining morning face, creeping like snail
Unwillingly to school. And then the lover
Sighing like furnace, with a woeful ballad
Made to his mistress' eyebrow. Then a soldier
Full of strange oaths and bearded like the pard
Jealous in honour, sudden and quick in quarrel
Seeking the bubble reputation
Even in the cannon's mouth. And then the justice
In fair round belly with good capon lined
With eyes severe and beard of formal cut
Full of wise saws and modern instances
And so he plays his part. The sixth age shifts
Into the lean and slipper'd pantaloon
With spectacles on nose and pouch on side
His youthful hose, well saved, a world too wide
For his shrunk shank; and his big manly voice
Turning again toward childish treble, pipes
And whistles in his sound. Last scene of all
That ends this strange eventful history
Is second childishness and mere oblivion
Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.

YAY!!!!

ohhh we watched Shakespeare in Love today! it was great!!! lol the actor for shakespeare was a stud-muffin but the real one...

I loved Shakespeare in love! But I realy didn't like R+J. Just the fact that she's 14 and's about 18 or 19. I know it wouldn't be uncommon in that day, but still...Although I do think parts of it are very romantic!

I wish I could of married him too... He sounds like a real romantic... But he did leave his wife and kids for a play...

"My bounty is as boundless as the sea, my love as deep
The more I give to thee, the more I have, for both are infinate."--Juliet, Romeo and Juliet

we acted Romeo and Juliet out in English class in 9th grade....so much fun. Even though I'm not an actress, I had so much fun...especially during the balcony scene ;)

But if we're going for favorite sonnets and such...mine of Shakespeare is one we memorized again for 9th grade!
Sonnet XXIX
When, in disgrace with fortune and men's eyes,
I all alone beweep my outcast state
And trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries
And look upon myself and curse my fate,
Wishing me like to one more rich in hope,
Featured like him, like him with friends possess'd,
Desiring this man's art and that man's scope,
With what I most enjoy contented least;
Yet in these thoughts myself almost despising,
Haply I think on thee, and then my state,
Like to the lark at break of day arising
From sullen earth, sings hymns at heaven's gate;
For thy sweet love remember'd such wealth brings
That then I scorn to change my state with kings.

wow... i love shakespere and i didint relize this was here!!!! YAYYA.. here are some of my favs.
~Romeo and Juliet
~Hamlet
~Midsummer's Night Dream
~Comedy of Errors

i love all his sonnets and all of his work. ive even acted some of it out.. hehehe!

they're pretty amazing...I think it's interesting how Shakespeare would find random syllables just to make the ten up for sonnet line! lol
