Snowboard Expert - anyone?

Hey, everyone I was wondering if there is anyone here on the heroeshall forums who is familiar with snowboard brands etc... to help me buy a new one. I used to have the Atomic Hatchet which was perfect but I have grown out of the 145cm (or at least I think so). I have been looking at the Nideck Megalight, Elan Inverse (2007) and the Arbor Mystic (2007) but I am not quiet sure as which would best fit me. I have a shoe size of 10 - 10 1/2 US, weight 130LBS and a height of 169cm (believe thats 5ft 6"). Anyways I just want some input about the best quality, high speed, lightweight boards for all terain on the market as of now? Thanks in advance! Oh and my budget is around $400 bucks =)

Burton is a great snowboard company its more though which one of their boards is the best for me and then compare that to others out there to find the best one suited for me. Want to get one that I will really like, after all it is 400 bucks! Sooo many boards!

To be a snowboard expert, I would have to have seen snow more than a 10 times in my life, I guess.

Whaaaaaa? Well this winter I'll make sure to send some of it your way.

But ya I'm an avid snowboarder and have been for the past 10 years so maybe I can help ya. I'm personally a huge fan of Burton boards myself (So nav you gots good taste). They always have high quality boards but you do end up paying for that. Usually I change boards about every 3-4 years or so depending on wear and how bad I beat on it.

K2 and Rome boards I've used in the past and have liked them so maybe check them out as well. Option used to make good boards but haven't looked at them for awhile so I dunno anymore. But if your just looking for advice on brands Burton, K2 and Rome are the ones I personally recommend. Now if you want an actual specific board advice I'll have to research a bit and give ya a couple ideas depending on how much you wanna spend, if you like stiff or more flexible boards and so on.

Also a lot of places especially around resorts and such let you rent it for the weekend for a nominal fee so you can try it out and see if the board fits your style of boardin. Thats how i usually determine if its right for me or not.

Thanks for the response cordy, hmm, going to have to try some snowboards at a resort when the season comes around. As far as specifics go I like the flex to be soft, lightweight, solid board but how to measure speed on a snowboard I do not really know. Fast enough to leave skiiers in the dust whwhaha!
And as of now ive been looking at these but i am no expert -
