Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield is currently serving as the International Space Station's Flight Engineer for Expedition 34 and often tweets from space. William Shatner, know of course to fans everywhere as Captain James T. Kirk from Star Trek, sent a 'Tweet' to Hadfield asking if he was really in space.

The response is below.

I admire the diplomacy of Mr. Hadfield. He did NOT say they had detected signs of intelligent life on the surface.

Of course, according to the Prime Directive, Hadfield shouldn't have said anything at all. Our race doesn't have warp drive yet. The closest we've come so far is a few hybrid cars.

However, we should all remember that Shatner bent the Prime Directive in so many directions it screamed for mercy.
