Terminator's McG to Remake 20,000 Leagues
(Via Wired)Wired said:
After Terminator: Salvation opens May 22, director McG will tackle 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Captain Nemo for Disney.
The first version (pictured), adapted in 1954 from the Jules Verne sci-fi classic, picked up three Oscars and packed theaters with a then-radical special effects sequence featuring a giant squid attack.
Disney recently pulled out of a deal to co-finance a third Chronicles of Narnia movie. The reason: too expensive. But the studio spared no expense in bringing McG on board for its 20,000 Leagues remake: Variety reports that Disney will pay McG $8 million.
