The Forest (2016)

So, In Japan, there is this forest where people go to commit suicide and it is haunted. Mmm, okay.

Now, anyone that is really into horror knows that the Japanese make some really creepy stuff. This, meh. Its made in the USA. The film is okay but I think a J-Horror of this film would have been much better.

The good stuff doesn't really start happening till they actually get into the forest. The ending is a mouth-opener but not jaw-dropping. The performances are good and the shots are meh, okay, I guess. There are a few jump scares but nothing too severe. If you are not a horror fan it might give you a creepy feeling but for us horror maniacs it is so-so. If you are looking for a horror movie as a change of pace you can do much, much worse.
