I finally had a chance to watch the reboot/limited-series (or whatever else it's being called), at least the episodes that have aired so far.

The twist with the monster in episode #3 was actually pretty amusing.

anyone notice that outfit? (hint; see my avatar!)

I like them so far.

wouldn't it be interesting...the series end thusly; the aliens finally invade and seem about to take over when an army of Earth's monsters appears--the ones from the 'monster of the week' episodes, vampire, werewolf, chupacabra, jersey devil, tree monster from the 'detour' episode, etc etc., to save their (our) planet
if it's a two-parter, Mulder could maybe be seen hustling and traveling all over to call the monsters to battle?

(one of the first episodes, 'Squeeze', I swear the voices in the background at the end are singing 'calling monster calling monster)

Episode 4 was hard for me to watch. :( Episode 5 coming up on Monday looks like it'll be lighter toned.

That would actually be pretty entertaining to watch, especially after episode 3's 'twist' to the usual monster story line. But wouldn't an alien invasion be counter to where the plot of the season is going?

Sorry to butt in, but whenever I start to look round this place, I see something right away and look at it...then read some, then want to say something too...:D

I never got to really watch X-Files (working fairs and festivals for 17 yrs straight and more)..and really know not much of it . But I did hear bout this,,the same day I heard Hillary said she would get to the bottom of the conspiracy of aliens and UFO's..What Timing she has. :D

Just Like Mr. Clinton already did.
Recall. all the declassification of the Area 51 and other secret documents. yep, they reported he did exactly the same thing.
and he did,,sort of.

Hillary certainly has a memory problem..She does not recall things on 50 questions regarding Benghazi.
But knows what she said to the families of the Murdered, who, 9 have stated that is not what she said to them, and she calls them liars now...wow...! and somebody forgot to mention that Bill has already done what she proposes...
well, the Clintons do have ties to Hollywood,,and seems a little like unlikely coincidence that she would bring that up,
unless the X-Files return was not a story, she would not have said a thing.. <These people are crazy!

I think there is enough in the Political and Personal History of the Clinton's,to make an X-Files Movie with 8 sequels..
bar har har,,but that's me.
From Whitewater, to Pardons for terrorists and pardons for sale, to Vince Foster's murder..the UN-deniable evidence of the Medical Examiner's office and the previous Undeniable cover up<See Witness Lawsuit of the V. Foster Murder)and testimony and the lone witness. To the Narcotics corruption in Arkansas state gov't.
To the 30 women Mr. Clinton has had come forward or re claimed to have been violated, exploited, sexually by him and in some violently. But poor Cosby . gets the shtick.
I read a lot of the affidavits from the lone witness lawsuit, man there is enough material in that lawsuit to make 8 movies on scandals with just the Clinton's.

I am serious, and it bothers me that America still holds these people in office..and say they are politicians, they lie,, get over it.--well, they bashed Bush for a decade on a lie that never was,New York Times was the promoter of this. ( same organization that released the Abu Gharib pics to get Bush!,,,that is traitorous in my book.) Put political concerns before the nations concerns, give the enemy a poster board for political reasons. They advanced the threat against us just to make political points.
And since when was it okay for a politician to lie? (Nixon)( George Washington)
Lies, Deceit, Deception,Denials,Cover-ups, all the makings of Suspenseful and Dramatic series on "the Truth is out there"

"The Clinton Files of X" --the "X-Clinton Files"--X Files of Politics-- :D
RRR.

Addendum,,when your own representatives lie to you publicly and get away with it or is accepted as status quo...you open the door to anarchy.Socialistic change to a different system.
Absolute power corrupts,,and don't think for a second that tyranny and dictatorships are gone for good.
-Conspiracy? America is being transformed. By radicals. They are and have been , changing our system
of rules, laws and procedure.Best way to make it happen is to make incite dissent, division, race issues, turmoil, strife, taxes, anything that cause pits people.groups against one another,,and not together.
That is how you draw your power and authority,, by doing ( or saying you will do) something to fix it,,which means
tighter control,tighter restrictions,tighter laws,tighter scrutiny..less freedom.
the fall of civilization.

how many times have they said "to fix our schools"?
common core-Desegregation-which ruined my young life)-Outcome based education-Similar Student
to name a few also see- Columbus School Board data scrubbing scandal
"Take back America"?
"Fix what needs fixin"?
Reform? usually tips in the favor of the party that is reforming.

how many times has a group sued in the courts to get their way? even after a referendum was voted down by voters?

The Wars on Obesity. and others...cmon,, is that in the constitution, that a lying deceiving politician knows whats best for everyone...because it fixes something?Or that someone you know may benefit financially from a fix? Tablets for every school child in a Calif. District 3500$ a pop, but they cant pay for athletic equipment or Instruments? A tablet to do homework on? what was wrong with paper?
----add in replacements and repairs of Tablets in the hands of kids who take them home.Whoever was the salesman is set for life...--
it makes it better for you? it grants you income?
and uses his power and office to affect social or behavioral change.
- Not his Job --Usually in my own opinion, the fixes are utter failures and dismally flawed.

" the American Voter does not know what's best for them"
-one of the Architects of Obama Care-

so this makes it okay to lie and deceive to give us what is best for us.
and to use an appointed judge to make it legal. YAY!!!!!!
Idk bout you, but this reminds me so much of the Star Wars prequel,,,
and Democracy dies,,with thunderous applause. And the (Emperor) Chancellor..Will make it legal!

Sorry to spiel so much, but my mind is very active and must be allowed to...its the only way.

I just want to clarify, as I was on a Chemical outbreak possibly,,but I ran out of time on the previous post.

The point I was trying to make..was not political..but, an observation. I read a lot of the affidavit and it strikes me as
a huge source of material for a X Files of Politics...and with Clinton herself taking a step in real life to get to the bottom of it.

Also,,,I was trying to draw parallels of current political climate and the Star Wars prequels..
in how the Chancellor manipulated and pitted others together, many other things...to achieve his objectives..not the Republic's

Episode 6 of 6 from season 10... this is it, the last chance(?) to wrap up all of the loose ends, to answer all the questions that fans have been asking for years, the culmination of decades of conspiracy theories leading up to this moment...

... and, here it is, the ending we've been waiting for, Scully looks up, straight at it, and then.... ending credits?! WTF?! :wtf:

Finally got around to watching this season.
Lets just say...I'm not impressed.

Not only am I not impressed with the story, the cinematography or the acting, The 'New Faces' of the X-Files leaves a whole lot to be desired. Einstein? Really? Thats the best you can come up with? Shallow characters, all of them. In all fairness, Skinner was good.

The whole 'William thing' and Scully/Mulder backstory was unneeded drool that killed the wonder and almost made me barf. Too many times I considered getting up and shutting it off. I didn't because I was hoping there would be something worthy of the X-Files history .

I am NOT looking forward to a new reboot of this. I do not care what happens after the stupid cliffhanger ending. As far as I'm concerned this was a pisspoor mishmash of junk. Ole Smoky wasn't even interesting.

I could expound on my disgust with spoilers but, all in all, I just don't think it is worth the typing.

felt more like holdover till *real* series airs
Last time I heard any news it was still up in the air as to whether a reboot series will take place. At the moment there are no real plans for a new series but some people are proposing it.

Flash forward to 2017 and, yay!, The X-Files is back. Sure, it screws up the ending of season 10, but it's back, right? Right? Not so fast, true believer.

In recent weeks Gillian Anderson has been getting louder & louder about not doing anything else after season 11 and is leaving behind the role which, arguably, made her famous.
Gillian Anderson said:
There are lots of things that I want to do in my life and career. It’s been an extraordinary opportunity. I’m extremely grateful. [But] I don’t want to be tied down to doing one thing for months and months… I like to be challenged as an actor. That’s why I got into this business. And it’s time for me to hang up Scully’s hat. This is it for me — I’m really serious.
Chris Carter, the series creator, has already said that he likely wouldn't want to do any X-Files without Anderson. So... enjoy season 11 as it may be the last X-Files content created.

Personally I think Liz Einstein and partner would've made for a nice continuation of the series in a semi-rebooted fashion.

Its an interesting series, but hard to follow. Remember project blue book from the 70's, probably not, it was awesome, no weirdness. Just airforce dudes going to folks with sightings, a few images of ufo's and bang good series. I think the writers should go back to the 70s and 60s's and learn how to write something that makes sense......;););););)

The X-Files was a show me and my dad obsessed over! It was really sad to see it go! I have all the seasons and movies on DVD.

Even had some books :sneaky:

Season two of the reboot currently airing for anyone interested (y)

We are deep diving XFiles this year, hey has some horror, pity we didn't started with Sheldon :(

Started watching this all over again, realized how much I missed it. Also watched the reboot it's good I enjoy but the original is my favorite and way better so far.

I watched 5 episodes of season 11 last night.
I shut it off and watched Criminal Minds instead.

Season 11 of X-Files, in my opinion, sucks.
Its full of itself. The stories are not interesting and the characters are shallow.
Something important was lost.
Still love the original series, but this new stuff, you can have it.
Blech
