I am torn between using Opera, Firefox and IE when visiting CoolSciFi

Posting messages with firefox is my #1 choice but it lags down so bad its almost impossible to use.

Opera doesn't slow down but it also doesn't copy links and the formatting is wacky.
Since I like my postings to be link rich and image colorful I find the process of assigning the links and adressing the images slow compared to firefox.

I reactivated IE just for Coolscifi but I opened it once and it took forever to even open my homepage. Gawd I hate IE!

I really wish I could figure out why Firefox slows down so bad after a few posts?

You once asked me what add-ons I had.
Not many and I have diasabled them and tested but nothing helps until I close and restart my browser.
I have even tried clearing my cache but it doesn't help.

Is anybody else besides Skwirl' having issues with either FireFox or IE?

If yes, what browser are you using, what version are you using, with what operating system, and what browser add-ons do you have?

So far I've been unable to duplicate the issue. :(

I use IE for surfing the Internets and I haven't had any problems; sometimes it takes longer than usual to go from page to page(especially if I'm running Limewire while listening to music), but nothing major or significant......
 
Got latest Firefox with addons : Imagezoom and British Dictionary.

I clear my cache everyday, use Tuneup;utilities2008 registrycleaner and its new hard drive defrag tools whenever installing/uninstalling anything, plus Tracks Erasure Pro, Spybot S&D, Adaware SE on a weekly basis. Keeps things fairly tiptop. Most problems I see come from bad java or divx embedded stuff. But not relating to this site specifically.

People who program software for Windows software are always making mistakes at the installer level. If you are always trying out new programs, then your OS is going to develop problems because of these people. Which is why you need to run two hard drives (or two partitions on your one physical drive), slave with your data on, then you can use slipstreamed XP discs to install your OS and most frequently used programs back on the Master when you develop problems. A clean install every 6 months is par for the course. Use your pc as a games console (ie. don't touch the software) then your OS will outlast your HDD. Plus, with a fast pc, a reinstall is a lot faster than trying to fix the problems in most cases!!!!
 
Ok, I have disabled ALL of my firefox extensions. Cleared felgercarb cleaner and restarted my browser. Its ok righ now but the true test is after I post a couple comments and surf a few pages.
 
So far so good - I have turned on a few and it is still working right. I have been viewing trailers, surfing sites and posting with no slowdown .

These add-ons are still disabled
