Many of the artist you mentioned are not underground, but most of them i have no clue about.
I tend to be interested in things no one else likes. I like being my own person. When you say underground, what exactly do you mean? small record labels, or just not popular?
 
Many of the artist i mentioned that are not underground i see as Sonic Youth, Modest Mouse, Aphex Twin, and Stereolab....but they are considered not mainstream....if you dont have a clue about em well this is the place to learn if you want to.
I like good music if its underground mainstream etc then i like it...it doesnt matter if the whole world likes it or if i just do...with music it shouldnt be about 'everyone likes this band' so im not...it should be about if theyre good listen up but if they suck then dont try to pass it off they suck....you can be your own person and listen to Evanesence or Coldplay..just as much as you can be an individual listenin to Kyuss or the Melvins.
When i say underground i mean "under the radar" just like the title says...bands that you cant talk about because no one else knows about....or if you wanna discuss a genre like dancepunk, death metal, indie-pop, shibuya key, dream pop, shoe-gazer...and all those genres that "most" people wont give a chance. Sonic Youth is a major band and so are the Stooges but i cant talk to anyone about them and when i mention Teenage Riot or Kim Gordon..people stare at me blankly...so just cos your signed to a major record label or appear on the simpsons ....doesnt mean everyone knows about your music.
and this is the best place to talk about all that stuff...because i like music and good chance, great chance actually thatll ill know what your talkin about.

yeah small record labels, not popular, anything we'll talk about..sheeooot we can even talk about mainstream if you really wanted this is just a thread about diffrent musical tastes.
 
The reason why i say i dont like the popular music is becasue I like original stuff, i dont want to hear all those countless boybands/rap groups sing the same song with different melody, i dont want to hear a song played on the radio 24/7, and what i hate most is when artists become big and just make tunes for the money. I m not really into the same music as you (i dont think) but i consider the music i listen to under the radar, well over here in North America is certainly is. I m a huge fan of electronic music, not so much of a rock fan. In Europe many of the people i listen to might be considered big stars but here when i talk about them people are like who??

i love underground punk. i actually look for underground bands. they've got so much more passion than others. i love interpol, but they're more popular around my area
