I think it's funny that Sydney and her mother use a horse and buggy, while her father and brother drive a truck and use a computer. It's like her father wants the womenfolk to stay old order.

I'm also surprised Sydney isn't pressed to get married, since women are often engaged by eighteen. Unless, her mother really just wants someone around to help take care of the younger children.

I don't think it's just Jack wanting the womenfolk to stay old order, I think it's the religion.
I wondered, too, about her being 23 and not married, yet. Are they allowed to marry
outside their religion?

I'm glad they learned more about each other and have plans to meet again.

I have a lot of cousins, myself. It only gets overwhelming when they are all together.
Then, the noise level goes up, way up. That's when you do like to escape for a little while.
