Zero Hour is was a short lived series on ABC starring Anthony Edwards (ER). Edwards is Hank Galliston, the publisher of Modern Skeptic, a National Enquirer type magazine that reports on paranormal events. His wife, Laila, is a clock expert who runs her own clock shop. After finding a unique clock at a flea market Laila is kidnapped by a known international terrorist. In flashbacks it is revealed that the clock was made by a secretive sect of priests during WWII who were slaughtered while trying to protect the secret they swore their lives to. Aided by two young reporters at his magazine and an FBI agent with her own agenda, Galliston starts a global adventure to find his wife and solve the mystery of the clock.

Three episodes were aired before ABC cancelled it due to low ratings. :banghead:

With religion playing a major role interspersed with violence it is understandable why it did not find a large audience on a broadcast network. While watching the episodes I could not help but think that it is likely what National Treasure + The Da Vince Code would have looked like if it was done by Clive Cussler. That is not necessarily a bad thing for some mindless 'popcorn' TV or movie watching but as the basis for a series I don't think it could it sustain itself long enough.

If Zero Hour was on a cable network, where shows can more easily survive with smaller audiences, or even as a limited mini-series, it may have had a chance of success. We'll never know though because ABC killed it quickly and so far nothing has been announced regarding the remaining episodes that have been filmed but not aired. If you get a chance and like popcorn action movies then give it a chance but if you don't like watching shows that don't have an ending & have some plot issues then skip this one.

You can watch the three episodes for online viewing at ABC. http://abc.go.com/watch/zero-hour/SH55199647/VD55269222/strike

ABC will burn through the remaining episodes of Zero Hour this summer. Two back-to-back episodes will air June 15 at 8:00 PM followed a new episode weekly at the same time until a two-hour series finale on August 3.

(y) As the apparent only fan of this show, I'll be on the lookout for the remaining episodes. Hopefully the finale, if it was filmed during the announcement of the cancellation, will close the story line instead of being left as a traditional season ending cliffhanger.
